Versailles itself was built to covey the grandeur of the monarchy with its incredible architecture, fountains, statues, gardens, tapestries and furnishings. To see Versailles in person is a wonder to the eyes; so much beauty in every corner. Just walking through the massive and lush gardens is an adventure itself. It’s hard to imagine that people lived here everyday in such luxury while people in Paris worked hard and starved. It’s no surprise that this Royal Grandeur led to the downfall of the Monarchy and the French Revolution.
