We chose this hotel based on the close proximity to Port Everglades; we were hopping on a cruise the following day. The hotel is right on the water and about 5 minutes from the Port. When we arrived we valeted the rental car and proceeded to the lobby. Check in was very easy and the front desk staff was very friendly. The lobby had a nice bar area with lots of chairs and couches. The outside deck had couches and a fire pit to keep guests warm on the chilly night. The room was beautiful. It has a sleek and minamalistic decor. The bed was large and comfortable. This place was right down the street from the Embassy Suites; a short five minute walk and about a ten minute walk from the Hilton Marina (We were in town for a cruise and for a conference afterwards). The Embassy Suites on 17th was a good stay. Nothing spectacular, but a good stay. Check in was simple and I was quickly given our keys. Being that we checked in at 10pm I was more concerned in finding a restaurant with the kitchen still open than worrying about anything else. Looking back there was no mention of status and to be honest I was not even given the code for the free internet at check in. I had to come back and ask for that after dinner. Waiting in our room for us though was a basket with soda, water, pretzels and m&ms with a letter saying thank you for being diamond and staying with them from the general manager.
