Originally we had planned to stay at a campsite near Corte since we were already there on that day and did not want to drive far. We looked at three campgrounds but they were all pretty impersonal, offered little shade and at some even lay around garbage. So we decided to head towards Calvi and drove to the camp in Lozari and that immediately made a better impression. Since it would be dark soon we decided to stay because the place was shady, very visually appealing and sanitary facilities looked also nice. When you drive into the square located on the right and left of the main road are a couple of opportunities for camping but they are little shady and lie in direct view. A few meters af...Read More

The campsite is in Biguglia, about 4 km away from Bastia. The interesting thing about this place is its location between the Lido de Marana (a lake) and the Mediterranean. As we searched for that night a place that is as close to the sea and not too far away from Bastia, San Damiano was the right choice. Each area is passable by car and you get the key for the magnetic barrier. The reception is located on the border of the area as well as a large car park. We opted for the right part which is larger and were allowed to freely choose a place. The place is quite large and offers many secluded corners and in the middle is the service building. So we opted for a quiet but very central parking ...Read More

Last month I returned from my vacation on the island of Corsica. With my friend I've circumnavigated the entire island and camped almost every night somewhere else. On our first night we took a campsite on the Marina d'Aléria in the village of Aléria on the east coast of the island. Our decision for this camping reasoned in a nice position description and a good rating for the toilets and it was practically on our itinerary. The camp itself is excellent with four stars and is well signposted with large signs. It immediately makes a sympathetic impression when you enter it. The campsite is situated on the beach and has its own quite large and beautiful beach. If you travel with ...Read More

The second night of our holiday on the island of Corsica, we have spent on a campsite just off Porto Vecchio, the campsite "Les Ilot d'Or". The campsite has been recommended in the ADAC Camping and so we decided to have a closer look. The first impression was very good, especially since it seemed overall comfortable and less touristy than the first. So we pitched our tent on here for one night. The camping is approximately 4 hectares and offers sites directly on the beach or in the forest of cork oaks, eucalyptus and oak trees. The soil is sandy, but pretty hard, so you absolutely need a hammer for the tent. The areas for tents and caravans are separated. A large main path with...Read More

Our fifth night we spent in a tent in the small town of Port, on the 3-star campsite Sole e Vista. It was a recommendation in the ADAC Camping and Caravan Guide. There was talk of a pristine and quiet spot in a hillside, either shade or overlooking the sea or mountains. We drove up a steep path and reached the small reception house where we were greeted very nicely. For me and my friend was the most beautiful campsite we have visited on our tour. In very steep switchbacks to the main trail runs up the slope. At the top there is an exit, so you do not go down again with the car. When checking in, we received a map of the site. It was obvious where tents and caravans which may be placed...Read More
