When on holiday in Cornwall I went to visit St Michaels Mount, a small island just off of Lizard. The island is only accessible by either foot (in low tide) or boat (in high tide). By foot you can walk across a stone walkway all the way up to St Michaels Mount, the ground is quite uneven and can be slippery so it may not be a good place to take those with problems walking, saying this though I did see someone pushing a wheelchair up the path so I would suggest that you think carefully about doing this as it is quite a steep incline. Another issue that must be considered and explored is the times of the change in tide. Once the tide is high you cannot walk back from the island so have to pay to get a b...Read More

Truro Cathedral

Attraction | "Beautiful Cathedral"

Truro Cathedral is located right in the centre of Truro, it is easily assessable and easy to find as there are lots of sign posts to the Cathedral. The Cathedral started being made in 1880 and took twenty years to complete. Now I am not a particularly religious person but I found the Cathedral fascinating to look around. The outside is very impressive, the tallest part of the Cathedral is 76 metres high! The Cathedral at the moment is undergoing some renovation work due to the stones beginning to crumble due to acid rain. This means that there is some scaffolding around the outside however it does not take away from the beauty of the Cathedral. When we visited we were lucky enough to be ab...Read More

My brother took my boyfriend and I to the Eden project in Cornwall and it was brilliant! The cost for a student (which I was at the time) was £14 which isn't too bad really for what you get. Adult tickets are £20 and children 5-16 cost £7.50. You can also save more by either buying tickets online in advance or by travelling there by bicycle or public transport. The opening and closing times are dependent upon the time of year and can be viewed on the website. The Eden Project is well sign posted so getting there by car is quite easy and they are several huge car parks so parking usually isn’t a problem. When you first arrive at the Eden project you are met with a fantastic view acro...Read More

Hotel | "Expensive run down accommodation"

I decided that I wanted to go on a surfing holiday and after much looking around found the reef surf lodge in Newquay, Cornwall. I found that most of the accommodation in Newquay was very overpriced so didn't mind paying just under £200 for a weeks accommodation in august on a last minute deal basis. You can find many deals and offers on the website. The lodge offers hostel type accommodation, no food is included and some of the rooms don't even have en suite facilities so have to share a bathroom per floor of the lodge. The rooms are very small, they try to fit more people into them by having bunk beds and no wardrobes or storage space for suitcases. There is also nowhere to store any valu...Read More

When I went on holiday to Newquay in Cornwall, I decided that I wanted to try surfing. I’ve always been afraid of water but wanted to face my fear doing something that I had always thought would be fun and exciting. I decided to book with Reef surf school for six full day courses for £139. This included your wetsuit, board and tuition. When I first arrived at the surf school I had to fill out a few forms. I was a bit put off when one of the forms that I needed to sign stated that the surf school would not be held accountable for dislocation, dismemberment or death, however the instructors assured me that they would do everything they could to ensure that we were all kept safe. ...Read More
