The eighth day of our trip to the U.S. we ended at Cape Cod, specifically in South Yarmouth, where we spent the night at the Ambassador Inn & Suites. The Ambassador Inn is a three star hotel with a satisfaction guarantee. That is if one should be dissatisfied they would get their money back. Always sounds too good to be true really. The Ambassador Inn & Suites is located, as already mentioned, in South Yarmouth, Massachusetts. The hotel is located directly on Route 28 and is therefore not to miss. The connection is so good and it is also in the most beautiful places of the Cape or the sea. The Ambassador Inn, with its 89 rooms on two floors is not very large h...Read More

During our trip to the USA, we have also spent a few days in New York. There we also went to the Staten Island Ferry. The Staten Island Ferry has nothing to do with the boat tours, but it’s a ferry that connects the southern tip of Manhattan to the Staten Island. Staten Island is 22 kilometres long and 12 kilometres wide, the smallest district of New York. There are about 400 000 inhabitants, what sounds not a lot, but for New York standards is just a small district. Because there are few sights the ‘New Yorkers’ sees the part as the ‘Forgotten suburb’. There is a nearly 1.3-kilometer bridge between Brooklyn and Staten Island, but it is no bridge to Manhattan. And here comes the ferry into ...Read More

On the morning of the 10th Day of our trip to the U.S. we took the train from Providence to New York City, where we spent the rest of our trip. The four nights we had to leave before us, we stayed at the Morningside Inn, a hotel in Manhattan's Upper West Side. The Morningside Inn is a basic hotel located in the Upper West Side of Manhattan. With 74 rooms, it is not a very large hotel, but since there is not only single and double rooms, but also rooms for 3 or 4 peopl. Youth groups also seem to send you here, because during our stay, many young people accommodated in the dormitories. There are rooms with private bath, but also rooms with shared facilities. On each floor there is also a kitc...Read More

Having the ninth day of our trip to the U.S. spend at cape Cod we went in the direction of Providence, from where we should go by train the next morning to New York City. Therefore we chose a hotel that was not too far away from the Providence train station. We ended up at the Best Western Providence-Seekonk. Like all Best Western hotel is also this a middle class hotel. With only 50 rooms is the 2.5-star hotel is not one of the largest hotels which was not a disadvantage. There are also two rooms that are handicapped accessible. The entire hotel is also wheelchair accessible, because the aisles are wide and you get to the breakfast room at ground level. As in the hotel before the receptio...Read More

After leaving Plymouth, we headed towards Cape Cod and arrived late on the afternoon of 8 Day of our trip to the USA, the town of Sandwich, where we made a trip to the Sandwich boardwalk. The Cape Cod is separated by the 12 km long and 160 meters wide Cape Cod Canal from the mainland and can therefore be described almost as an island already. Two bridges connect the Cape to the mainland. If you drive to the north of the Sagamore Bridge, the sandwich is just behind, on Route 6A and is therefore not recommended. The place was already a long time before the signs and map or navigation system, it is very easy to find, as it inevitably goes by when one crosses the bridge.Sandwich was...Read More
