Eagle Beach

Attraction | "One of the Best Beach on the Island"

Eagle Beach Photo, Oranjestad, Aruba

The Eagle beach is literally across the street from where we stayed and is one of the top beaches on the island. Not as crowded and busy as Palm beach therefore you can experience total bliss and relaxation, especially in the early hours and sunset hours. The water is clear and relatively calm turquoise blue. The sand is pristine white. And there are an abundance of fishes though not colorful that is not afraid to come close to you. One guests took a piece of bread (though I may have read from one of the house rules from the hotel that that you are discouraged from feeding the fish and the Iguanas) and you can just see these fishes jumping up and out of the water to get them. The man gave my sister a...Read More

Paradise Beach Villas

Hotel | "A nice place to stay!"

We own a time share (Geo) that is affiliated with this villa. It is located right across from the Eagle Beach, and about 10 mins away from the airport. The exterior of the villa was painted a pinkish-coral colour which we think is sooo cute. The lobby area is nice and clean, the front desk staff were so nice. The grounds are nice and well-kept. There are 2 free form pools and a hot tub. Ask one of the staff and they can provide for you inflatables that you can borrow and even take to the beach or to have them inflate one of your own. Beach/ pool towels are provided and you can get a fresh onesdaily. The towel hut is just by the pool area. The pool area has plenty of loungers and chickees where you can...Read More

French Steakhouse

Restaurant | "Early Bird Specials"

French Steakhouse Photo, Oranjestad, Aruba

There are so many restaurants on the island that we really do not know what to choose. We decided to go to the French Steakhouse because they offer a good Early Bird Special (5:30pm-7:30pm). Located at the Manchebo Beach and Spa, it is an indoor restaurant and doesn't offer view of the water. Early Bird 3-course menu starts at $22.95 and you get a choice of soup du jour or house salad for starters, lemon-herb half broiled chicken, fish of the day or a pasta dish for entrees and dessert. Drinks not included. The kids chose the 3 course dinner, while the husband and I picked the Ambassador's 5- course dinner for $34.95. Scour your magazines, it has a coupon for a free glass of house wine. I don't drink ...Read More

Jolly Pirates

Attraction | "Aaarrrgggghhhh! We had a "Jolly" time with the Pirates!"

With so much different activities offered in Aruba, we really don't know what to choose. This particular activity was recommended to us by a couple who we met at the beach that were frequent visitors of Aruba. We were so glad we listened to their advice and had a really fun time aboard this pirate ship. We paid $56 U.S. pp. for a 4.5 hour cruise that will take you to 3 different snorkeling sites, an open bar, and they served BBQ for lunch (hot lunch delivered by a boat). They also offer a rope-swing activity which was also fun though I did not participate since I do not know how to swim. But just watching slightly or already drunk passengers try their rope-swinging skills was really funny. The AM cru...Read More

De Palm Island

Attraction | "Why it's worth the $ for us."

We saw this Island activity from one of the magazines, it seems like a fun activity though quite pricey ($99 for adults and $75 for kids 12 and below for a full-day 9am-5pm, walk in, meaning you take your car and drive to their port instead of being picked up by boat or a tour bus). We already purchased our tickets a day ahead before we go when I decided to look up reviews. I was dismayed by the many negative reviews I have read on another site, though there were also some positive ones.SInce we already purchased our tickets, we just decided to make the most of our trip. We arrived at their port 30 mins earlier so we are able to park at one of the very few shaded spots. A boat will take you from the p...Read More
