The Cock Inn

Restaurant | "A decent meal with friends."

Quote:
I went to stay with some friends in Milton Keynes in December 2010 and we visited numerous pubs and restaurants in this time. Our reason for selecting this pub, so I was told, was that although it was the Christmas period we were able to get some of the more traditional pub fayre rather than just having the standard December Christmas pub menu. Sounded good to me and we promptly set off. The pub itself is quite quaint and small but it's just perfect for having a meal with friends. There is parking and it's just off the main street of the village. We were able to get seated straight away with no wait and the staff were lovely and friendly and prompt in coming over and taking our orders for ...Read More

Peartree Bridge Inn

Restaurant | "No pears have fell from this tree recently."

Quote:
I was visiting friends at the end of last year and we went to lots of pubs, restaurants and bars while we were staying with them and 'The Pear Tree Inn' was one such place. Our main reason for visiting here was that they were going to having a band playing in the evening. This prompted us to get there nice and early so we could ensure that we could get some seats and have something to eat before the band came and the place got too busy! First impressions upon arriving was that there was ample parking and the building did not look to bad from the outside. There was some outside seating which would have been nicer during the summer months but this looked like it could do with a good sand and...Read More

The Coffee Pot

Restaurant | "I didn't drink coffee from this pot!"

Quote:
When visiting friends a few months ago it's fair to say that we went on quite a few nights out. These included visiting lots of pubs and bars for live music, some of which we ate food in in the late afternoon. This was one such pub. Upon arriving I was pleasantly surprised at home nice the pub was, the decor was quite nice and they were playing fantastic music upon arrival which is always a sure fire way to get my attention. We were directed through to the restaurant area very fast and seated equally quick which was fantastic as we didn't have to wait to get drinks or to get a table. The service was fantastic, nice and fast, friendly with lots of smiles. We were able to request a few chang...Read More

LA HIND

Restaurant | "The waiters won't hang off La Hind!"

Quote:
After staying with friends and visiting quite a few pubs it is fair to say that I was wanting something a bit different and my friend suggested 'La Hind' an Indian restaurant in Milton Keynes. First impressions upon arriving at this restaurant was that it was just what I was looking for and was surely going to offer a welcome change from some of the many pubs that we had visited in the previous week or so. I was not to be disappointed and left feeling like we'd had the best night out of the trip so far and would happily return again the next night even with no qualms at all about finding something different to enjoy on the next visit. The restaurant is well laid out with ample space between...Read More

Ye Olde Swan

Best Of IgoUgo

Restaurant | "Fortunately they didn't serve Ye Olde Swan here!"

Quote:
We were staying with some friends at the end of last year and it's fair to say we got around quite a bit visiting numerous pubs and restaurants. This is how we ended up at Ye Olde Swan in Milton Keynes. The main reason for visiting is that one of the people we were staying with is a Vegan and was sick and tired of having to ask for dishes to be altered for her by chefs in all of the places that we visited. So when a friend of ours suggested this place because it's well known locally for having lots of good vegan and vegetarian options we decided to give it a try!First impressions of this pub was that it was absolutely delightful. It is all delightful oldy worldy looking and it has lots of ...Read More
