Overview

The highlight was definitely the weather and the season. There was a quick rainshower followed immediately by clear sky, and everything smelled great. There was outdoor seating available at each location so we were able to dine under the clear starry sky. Everything seems cozy around the fall and everyone was dressed in light sweaters scarves with rain gear always close at hand. We drove from place to place so, admittedly, we didn't linger very long since we had to do it all in one night but traffic was light. Each place was full but not crowded and parking was abundant. I'm crazy about micro brew and I adore South Eugene. This little Pub is located just down the hill from my home and where I grew up. I recently moved back to town after eleven years and I was pleased to find a McMenamins so close to home. It's a nice little place. It's wonderfully decorated with murals and other original artwork that are colorful, creative, and hippie-esque. The restaurant itself is just off the University of Oregon campus next to Hayward field, McArthur Court, and the Univeristy Law School. It's kind of tucked away in the corner of a small commercial park on the corner of 19th and Agate. Be sure to check out the outdoor seating in the corner. The tables are oddly sh...Read More

After moving up from Ashland Oregon, my partner and I were looking for a watering-hole to call home. I'm a micro-drinker and she's a margarita lover so finding a happy compromise is often difficult. McMenamins North Bank is the definite solution! The bar features fresh squeezed juices for all their mixed drinks and a selection of McMenamins own liquors. It's a nice touch and gives everything a wonderfully fresh and "old-time" feeling. The staff is wonderfully casual and everyone was downright charming. As for the beer, you can't go wrong. All the usual McMenamins selections and seasonal specials. The bartenders were a wealth of knowledge on great hango...Read More

A bummer in the winter a blessing in the summer... Indoor dining is scarce. We were lucky on our visit to McMenamins High Street Brewery & Cafe, one of three McMenamins pubs in the city of Eugene, that the weather was crisp, clear, and not-too-cool. After circling the block a couple times we gave up on finding a spot on the street and parked ourselves in the lot behind the restaurant. The back of the building was alight with lights, candles, and laughter. An inviting scene to the wet and dark streets surrounding. McMenamins High Street Brewery & Cafe reminded me of something you would find in California's Humboldt County. The bohemian lifestyle seems to gravit...Read More
