The island of Benbecula lies between the islands of North and South Uist in The Western Isles of Scotland, and is connected by causeways to both of these islands. It is the main centre for the island chain, and has a limited selection of facilities including a small airport, bank, medical centre, and a selection of supermarkets and shops. Although I spend many weeks every year on the Island Of North Uist in The Outer Hebrides, it is only a step away into the rugged southern edge of the island chain known as South Uist, which lies over the causeway beyond the island of Benbecula. So for this review I will take you on a journey which begins at the northern end of the island of South Uist. You may have landed at the airport in Benbecula, or be travelling south from North Uist to see what lies beyond.
