As a devotee of whiskey, both Irish and Scotch, I always want to visit distilleries when I have the chance. I have been to both Jameson Heritage centres, Dublin and Cork, as well as Bushmills Distillery in County Down, and I would recommend the Jameson experience over the Bushmills. Jameson is a museum which shows you the real history of their company, with very knowledgeable guides, from a time when whiskey was a handcrafted commodity. The tour is expensive but you do get to try a dram of the famous whisky. It is totally amazing to see the process of how the whisky is made and was made in the past. Kilmainham Gaol

I visited Kilmainham Gaol last march. The tour was cheap and excellent. The guide gave an interesting tour and it made you aware of the hardship of the lives of the people jailed here. But what made it worth while for me apart from the obvious was the artifacts from the residents of the Jail. In perticular letter that were sent between a couple and it makes you realise just how real these people were. The letters linked with the information from the tour made me see them as more then just part of history.This one hour guided tour is a must see for any visitor to Dublin. St Stephens Green is both a park and a term for the area in Dublin. The park itself is magnificient on a sunny day. It was immortilised in James Joyce's classic novel Ulyseses. The area is of high historic significance, particularly to that of the 1916 Easter Rising where the South of Ireland claimed independance from the British.The park is beautiful and grassy and is fairly safe, though being in Dublin it would be an idea to keep your eye on your valuables. Dublin is known for its expensive accomodation and when i came here aged 30something I felt a bit odd, thinking that the hostel will be overrun with students, how wrong I was. The hostel attracts people of all ages and for the price I paid it was well worth it.The hostel charged around 18 euros a night, with a hostelworld card it is cheaper. Breakfast was ok just what youd expect and the rooms were great.
