Golden Nugget Atlantic City

Hotel | "Too far away"

Quote:
I walked a good distance to get to this hotel which is far away from the Boardwalk. The hotel sems to be away from the action and in Atlantic city you have to rely on buses and taxis. I dont have a lot of good things to say about the hotel. It didnt seem very good on customer service, especially as I was staying in another Trump hotel and I was refused entry onto the Shuttle service, because I wasnt a gold member, whatever that was.

Showboat Hotel & Casino

I would have to say in all my time in Atlantic city, the Showboat was my preferred hotel. It is a bit of a walk from Caesars, but in about 20 minutes you can arrive there safely. You pass a lot of nice shops on the Boardwalk on the way.The staff are nice and there are plenty of machines and table games. I won a little bit of money here and also i noticed that they had a lot of cheaper cafes, much more affordable than that at Caesars or Trump Plaza. The best find of all was the sports book that didnt have a $10 minimum bet, you could bet as low as $1, which suited me as I like to bet on triffectas. Caesars sports book had a $10 minimum bet.The Showboat is shaped like a boat and ...Read More

Ballys Park Place Casino Resort

Hotel | "Cheap but basic"

Ballys was quite an experience. I never stayed at the hotel here, having been in both nearby Caesars and the Trump Plaza however it was worth a visit. What you will notice is that it doesnt have the grandeur of the other hotels, but it is less expensive. I recommend the breakfast here at the danish eatery. You can get a nice cup of coffee and a bagel or a doughnut which sets you up for the morning.Ballys has a strange exterior, it seems to be shaped on like a cowboy saloon and then changes at other parts. The hotel seems quite dated and maybe has seen better days. It is situated on the boardwalk which is well worth a visit or a nice walk on a good day. There are lots of people carts outsid...Read More

I cant really complain about the Trump Plaza. It was expensive to book but I had a room with a view of the boardwalk and the sea and the staff were fantastic. The lady at the check in desk told me that I would win a lot of money and have a great stay and spoke to me like she knew me all her life. I was really flattered with the good hospitality. On my first day I had arrived late and was so hungry but apart from the expensive restuarants I couldnt find fast food. I had to settle for Mars Bars and coca cola. The area is fairly safe and is close to Caesars and Ballys, though a bit of a distance from other main hotels like the Showboat.I was going to book into the Hilton as it was ...Read More

Caesars Palace is on the boardwalk and is in a most noticeable area, nearby the Trump Tower and Ballys. I came from New York and there are frequent buses from the Port Authority bus station, fares are variable but are round $25 with a gambling token. The bus will usually pull up at a range of casinos and Caesars is usually one that it stops at.The hotel and casino is grand, it reminds you of Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, however it is on a much lower scale. Atlantic city is not Vegas but there are good things to do. Meals cost a fortune, however i still recommend brunch at the buffet and perhaps let that last you all day long. The casino is massive and busy and has lots of table...Read More
