An August 2001 trip to Elko by seehively

Elko is the county seat for Northern Nevada, so we often have to go for business. But we always have time for a little shopping and a great meal.

The best place to eat is the Star Hotel. Its Basque food, huge portions and wonderful, served in a family type meal. The best least expensive motel is the Thundbird motel the rooms are very clean and the motel is in the heart of town.

Best Way To Get Around:

The best way to get around Elko is by car unless your drinking, there are free shuttles to get you around if you are drinking.
