A travel journal
to Nice by GeorgeV
Quote: In Nice, on the French Riviera, the yearly jazz festival upholds a longstanding tradition of great quality jazz snce 1948.
The site, among ancient Gallo-Roman ruins is enchanting as you stroll from stage to stage between the fragrant olive trees and magnificent evergreens.
The area is landscaped for the duration of the festival to accommodate food stands where you will be able to sample many variations of Mediterranea cuisine and visit displays of CDs, posters and t-shirts.
There is something for everyon at the Nice Jazz festival.
Reservations can be made through the Tourist Office located in the center of Nice at 5 Promenade des Anglais. If you happen to be in Nice around that time (Only a short one-hour flight from Paris), you wil be able to get tickets for the festival in town. The door usually open at 6:30 PM and the feat goes on until after midnight.
Do not bother to bring a camera as this is not allowed unles you are a member of the press duly accredited. If you do bring a camera you'l have to check it before entering the grounds. The security is very tight.
