Frigiliana is a traditional white washed village high in the hills above Nerja and is considered to be one of the most beautiful villages in the whole of Spain. Located approx 7km away from the Nerja this lovely little village makes for an interesting day trip by either bus or car. Several buses a day leave from the centre of Nerja so it is easy to get there even if you haven't got a car. The village itself is absolutely gorgeous and is just what you would expect a traditional Andulacian Pueblo Blanco to look like with it's tightly packed white washed houses and cobbles streets. We spent a couple of hours just wandering through the streets admiring the houses and soaking up the...Read More

The Balcon De Europa is the heart and soul of the beautiful old Spanish town of Nerja. This spectacular mirador built into the cliffs offers breath taking views over the sea. Wandering the Balcon is an absolute pleasure and when we visited Nerja it was busy day and night. It is used as an unofficial centre of the town and from here it is easy to orientate yourself with the rest of the town. During the day it is the ideal place to come and take a break from sunbathing and grab an ice cream at one of the many restaurants and bars that surround the balcon. The best time to visit though is at night when it feels as though the whole town has decended on the Balcon for their nightly ...Read More

Nerja is a beautiful town located 50km from Malaga and unlike a lot of towns along that stretch of coast it hasn't lost it's unique charm. It is a beautiful place to go for a holiday however it is a costal town and the majority of people who visit here come for the beautiful beaches. That isn't to say that culture vultures won't find something to interest them. The Nerja caves are located just a short distance from the town and offer the visitor a fascinating chance to look round these Prehistoric wonders. They are easy to find on foot with sign posts directing you from the centre of Nerja and they are about 3km away. Inside the caves are simply spectacular and absolutely...Read More

Hostal Apartamentos Abril

Hotel | "Good value accommodation in Nerja "

Quote:
We booked the apartamentos Abril as they were relatively inexpensive for accommodation in the centre of Nerja. The apartment we were allocated was a studio and we paid 250 Euro for a week which was very reasonable for the level of accommodation which was provided. Checking in was very easy as we just had to pick up the key to our apartment from the Abril hostel and they gave us a map with the apartment clearly marked on it. The apartment was located within the old part of Nerja and was quite easy to find with the map and only took us 10 minutes to get from the hostel to sitting down in the apartment. When we first entered the flat first impressions were good. The building...Read More

Restaurant | "Fish and chips in the sun"

Nerja may be located on the Costa Del Sol and be full of English pubs and restaurants but it has to be said for some reason everything is just that little bit classier here than it is on other places on the coast. One of the best places we visited on our trip to Nerja was the Codfather restaurant. We originally visited the Codfather as we passed it a couple of times and the name made me smile so I thought it was worthwhile giving it a try. As you would imagine from the name the Codfather is a fish restaurant/bar that specialises in good old fish and chips. The portions were absolutely huge and great value for money especially as they came with proper mushy peas. The bater was de...Read More
