Dr. Rootbeer's Hall of Foam

Restaurant | "Don't Miss This!"

Quote:
Definitely a not to be missed attraction! Visit a 1950's remodeled gas station and step into the past. Along with daily food specials, take your pick from shakes, drinks, floats, rootbeers; hotdogs, wraps, and salads. The place is full of memorabilia, and is always a repeat spot for us!

Max's Pizza

Restaurant | "Perfect Pizza"

A real family friendly restaurant. Max's was another of our favorites. Menu includes pizzas, burgers, subs, and a special menu for kids. After your meal head over toward the swing bridge where you will find a great playground for the kids. There is also a covered picnic area and trails. Get your meal to go from Max's, and have a picnic next time!

Buddy's Crab House and Oyster Bar

Restaurant | "Great Seafood"

Quote:
With oceanfront views and a super menu, this was one of our favorites. They have anything you are in the mood for: seafood, steaks, ribs, and chicken along with pirate hats for the kids! You can't leave without having the coconut cake! Reasonable prices make this a must.

Surf City Ocean Pier

Attraction | "A Must Do!"

Quote:
Whether you are stocking up for your fishing trip, getting in a little night fishing, or looking for a perfect view, this pier is the place to go. It was originally built in 1948, was destroyed by Hurricane Fran in 1996, and rebuilt in 1997. There is a fully stocked tackle shop, a game room, a gift shop, and a burger joint, and always a beautiful view!

Missiles and More Museum

Attraction | "A small but cool museum"

Quote:
This small museum has some really cool exhibits. At one time, the military tested missiles here on the beachfront. There are exhibits for Operation Bumblebee, as it was called, for the pirates that frequented the area, the native americans who lived here before the settlers, and about the barrier island itself. Try it for something a little different!
