Having been born in Sydney and having lived there for more than 10 years, gives me the advantage of knowing my way around and recognizing the city highlights that interest me most. After 4 years since my last visit, I came back with the idea of taking a city tour around Sydney’s city and nearest beach areas. I wanted to experience the way a regular tourist may explore the city’s major points of interest, therefore decided to tour around on the famous "City Sightseeing Sydney and Bondi Beach Hop on Hop off double decker bus tour"!The closest bus stop we had to our place of accommodation was number 6 "Sydney Aquarium" on Wheat Road. The Sydney Aquarium is definitely a MUST see for...Read More

When it comes to thinking about activities that can be done on rainy days, my number one recommendation would be SHOPPING!First day in Sydney had been OK … but the rain started pouring down the next! Most of the activities we had planned were outdoor ones, so we had to postpone them a little until the weather improved.Despite of this fact, we found it an ideal opportunity to go shopping. There are so many shopping districts to choose from in Sydney. The ones I enjoy most are Parramatta, Bondi Junction, Westfield and the wide variety of stores located in the City along George Street.I had heard about the DFO but hadn’t had the opportunity to visit previously. DFO stand...Read More

During our recent visit to Sydney, the Blue Mountains were within our plans of places to visit. The forecast on the internet for the following days was not looking good … plenty of rain and cloudy days.We had been hoping to have good weather conditions during our stay as most of our activities were outdoor ones. Finally, one morning we were surprised to wake up with no sound of rain! We had a quick breakfast and headed off to the Central Station located on Eddy Avenue and Elizabeth Street, to take the first train to Katoomba. By the time we had arrived, the 820am train had already departed. We verified the Blue Mountains line’s schedule and noticed that the next train would ...Read More

Fascinated by our first stop at the Scenic World, we continued our ride along the Blue Mountains on the City Sightseeing Hop on Hop off double decker bus tour. Within a few minutes ride we made it to the Echo Point, a magnificent lookout spot located at the edge of a mountain, providing you with outstanding panoramic views of the valley, the southern Blue Mountains and the fabulous rock formations of the Three Sisters.Plaques can be found around the place explaining some cultural aspects of this region. This area also offers some interesting walks. A concrete path will lead you all the way from Echo Point to the Three Sisters Walk and the Giant Stairway. If you are interested in adven...Read More

By 4pm the sun was not really heating up the air that much but the walk back from the Leura cascades to the route had made our body temperatures raise enough to keep us ok. We were starting to get tired of all the walking we had made so far, so as we jumped back on the City Sightseeing Hop on Hop off double decker bus tour we decided to make our next stop at the Leura Village (also known as the Garden Village). This place seemed to be a nice place to stroll around and have a look at handcrafts of the area. Our first impression, as the bus drove into the village, was that it was very small and its main attraction seemed to be a short principal street packed with little shops on both sid...Read More
