I went to Imperial Palace in December 2008. I would never have thought of coming here until i logged into my total rewards and found they had comp rates for the 10 day period. Important tip if youre in total rewards log into your account and click on hot deals. You can also get a real discount off this hotel and all other harrahs hotels by doing so.I had a deluxe luv tub room which looked great in the photos. The room is clean but the carpet is old and worn and the luv tub was nothing more than a big bath in the middle of the room. What i liked about the room was the view, i heard so much about taking a street view room that the noise was bad as theres a band playing in the open air at night til...Read More

Riviera Hotel & Casino

Hotel | "A hidden little gem"

I loved my time in the Riviera hotel. I heard a lot of reviews about dirty rooms and bad service but that wasnt my case at all. For a hotel that supposedly requires reinvation i had a great room with view of the swimming pool and part of strip. I got this hotel on expedia at a fantastic rate considering it was a weekend, i made some great savings. The Riviera is on the north end of the strip but not as far as the sahara or the stratosphere, so a keen walker like myself who doesnt want to use the duece bus can make their way on foot to caesars in half an hour. The only downside is there is a long distance to the nearest monorail station which requires you to walk to the station at the Sahara...Read More

Stratosphere Casino, Hotel & Tower

Hotel | "Average hotel but away from the action"

The Stratosphere is visible from almost anywhere in Vegas towering above all other properties. Note it is a long journey from the airport if youre going by shuttle as every person will be dropped off at their property first and it took me well over an hour to get there. Important - Please ensure you have a fully confirmed booking from a reputable booking agent such as the ones on IGOUGO.COM , as when i went my booking wasnt properly confirmed and i ended up paying well over the odds. I would mention this rat firm but they are (thankfully) out of business now. The rooms are clean and modern but some have great views whereas others have views of brick walls. I found the rooms small though. A...Read More

Sahara Hotel and Casino

Hotel | "Cheap but cheerful"

Listen to the phrase whenever you hear it "You get what you pay for". I got the Sahara for a cheap price and while i cannot fault the hotel I feel that i got just the service that i paid for.The Sahara is located in the north end of the strip, somewhat away from the action but saying that it is my favourite casino to gamble in Vegas and wherever I am in Vegas I always try to get myself there. The casino is rather old fashioned with dated decor and sounds of the sixties blast out. It is a very famous hotel having served the ratpack and Tina Turner amongst others, but i feel that it has been kept in this era, alongside the decor.I always find that in the slots you get a good retu...Read More

Mirage Hotel and Casino

Hotel | "My best Vegas hotel"

I had a great time in the Mirage,Check their own website and under promotions i got this hotel for $88 a night (usually $200 a night). The hotel check in was slow and they asked me to come back at 4pm, i did so but i complained and i got $50 food credit which i spent in room. The hotel was one of the most luxurious i have ever been in my life. Ankle deep soft carpet, beautiful furnishings with a view of the volcano. There were ipod docks, flat screen television, a beautiful vanity area and bathroom. I had the most fantastic sleep of my life surrounded in pure luxury. I really made the most of my hotel room and got the fantastic experience of luxury everyone should have at least ...Read More

MGM Grand

Hotel | "A good hotel but can get better."

MGM Grand Photo, Las Vegas, Nevada

I stayed in MGM grand for 2 nights on a reasonably cheap deal on their website approx $75 a night compared to $200 normal. The room was clean but i didnt feel a quality of luxury within the room. The security was very tight at night time, which is a good thing but can be a hinderance if you cant find your hotel card. The exterior view was amazing from the hotel room and they provided iron board and iron. The room was clean.MGM is almost at the heart of the action, quite close to Caesars and connected to Excalibur by a walkway. It would be a good deal if you were going to see a concert as they have the famous MGM Garden arena. Tip - if youre interested in concerts make sure you check who is...Read More

I was pleasantly suprised with this hotel, i had a 3 night deal booked on the hotels website where for $45 a night i got free spa tickets and $25 food credit. The spa was awesome pure luxurious and free juices and state of art machines looking onto the pool. The restuarants were ok but a bit pricey for what you got.Excalibur is in a good area of the strip near MGM Grand and connected with a walkway at the south end, but if you were to go further south then you would be getting away from the action. The hotel casino is a little dated and there were some questionable reviews about the rooms but i have to say that my room was perfect and even though i didnt have a strip view i had a wonderful...Read More
