Casa Mila (La Pedrera de Gaudi)

Attraction | "the most fabulous house"

Casa Mila (La Pedrera de Gaudi) Photo, Barcelona, Spain
Quote:
Pedrera (1905-1910), better known in Barcelona under the name "La Pedrera" - "Quarry" - the most fabulous of houses of the Catalan capital, and possibly the world. The house looks like a concrete wave, engulfing the sidewalk, a wild rock, which grows in the middle of the street. Gaudí said that the fantastic "form of the house echoed with the contours of the mountains surrounding Barcelona that are visible from the roof of the house." A Salvador Dali once said that the building looks like a crumpled storm waves. Inside the house makes a much more impressive, especially the patio and a loft, where a museum of Gaudi.Upper floor busy exhibition devoted to the life and archit...Read More

La Rambla (Las Ramblas) Pedestrian Mall Photo, Barcelona, Spain
Quote:
Boqueria Market, also known as San Zhuzep, is perhaps the oldest food markets in Europe. It was founded around 1200 AD.It is surprising just about anything, from a rich range and finishing with a huge number of visitors, most of which are not typical consumers, but rather come here to enjoy the great atmosphere and to capture on camera the beauty of the local stalls.Just think, every day the market goes up to 27 000 kinds of products. If you compare this market with European counterparts, the nearest worthy competitor will be only in Paris, even though prices are considerably higher. The market is open daily, except Sunday. Its doors are open from seven in the morning, but most seller...Read More

Piazza di Spagna - one of the largest squares of the city, was built to the International Exhibition in 1929 at the foot of Montjuic near Sants-Montjuic. That's the view from the mountain to the area you are now and see. In the center - a fountain designed by Josep Maria Jujol, member of Antoni Gaudi, and sculptures by his side created by Miquel Blay. Buildings were designed by Nicolau Maria Rubio and Tuduri. Next, see Venetian tower. The museum itself is behind me.Their height is 47 m. They point the way to the National Museum of Catalan Art across the street, Avinguda de la Reina Maria Cristina.Who cares, the history of the area in the abridged version: the square was b...Read More

Bus Turístic Photo, Barcelona, Spain
Quote:
In Barcelona, devised a very convenient system of sightseeing by double-decker buses, which allows detail to explore the city and does not depend on the guides and especially the time available for field trips. I saw two companies that offer this service:1) BARCELONA BUS TURISTIC;2) BARCELONA TOUR.Personally, I took the first and did not regret! To do this, simply locate the booth in Plaza Catalunya with the letter "i" on the roof, they sell tickets to BARCELONA BUS TURISTIC ticket price for 1 day 21 euros for 2 days - 27 euros, in my opinion, it is better to take 2 days, etc. k. one day is not enough to get acquainted with the wonderful city of Barcelona.Together w...Read More

When you enter the park you will meet the most symbolic character of Barcelona - a huge ceramic lizard. To take a picture with her, we must stand in line. Such nonsense, I do not understand. Too much people and everybody make the same foto. The strongest impression on me in the park made the colonnade. The remarkable combination of dead stone columns and buildings with green plants. The columns resemble the prehistoric stone forest, stone finish crust resembles the relief of the cortex of these pines and Araucaria. And while those inclined pillars resemble the sea. Yes, yes, the sea, the sea waves. Look at the photo - a pinstripe wave coming ashore. If we go further, deeper into...Read More

Yes, very beautiful outside the house, but the fact that I was so shock the interior, I'm from itself is not expected. Search for a house is easy - this is the famous quarter of contention Paseia de Gracia. Why Neighborhood dissension? Because all the homes in the neighborhood, performed in different architectural styles. If you climb up from pl.Catalunya, the first house will be Casa Llie Morera Architect - Domenech Montaner. The second house, directly adjacent to the creation Montaner, Casa Amatller. And third, you are unmistakable in a thousand - the master's hand can not be overlooked - this is the Casa Batllo, architect - Antonio Gaudi. Few of the facade of the building. I...Read More

And my first impression of the Sagrada Familia - a facade Stastey Christ. I think that this is not chronologically correct, but it is absolutely correct from an emotional point of view - the facade of the Nativity, the facade of hope, love and joy I saw after visiting the cathedral, after visiting the exhibition, after studying the facade of the Passion, and how to put a final end to the optimistic their trips. Passion facade design is very simple, it is clean and solid, like a bone shape, decorated with a cold nakedness stone. The total lack of ornamentation in the ensemble due to a clear objective: to focus all attention on the sculptural groups, describing the last day of Christ. The whole po...Read More

We could not and did not climb this mountain, so in all its glory uvide city. The easiest way to get there on a special bus T-2 for 2,5 euro, which departs from Plaza Catalunya. About 30 minutes on the way to the serpentine and narrow streets, and here we are on the lookout platform casts a glance Barcelona.
There is also a great temple of the Sacred Heart, also has an elevator for 2 euros to get up quite high! And then he stretched Amusement Park (25 euros), a terrible combination! Riding a roller coaster next to the temple we considered blasphemous.

Hotel | "Excellent Location "

AC Diplomatic Photo, Barcelona, Spain
Quote:
In the beginning, we booked a standard room, but two beds were very very small, switched to superior. The next room was a prefect size, with a large bathroom. In suite minibar is complementary free.
5 minutes walk to Gracia, 10 minutes walk to Rambla st. PLus, you will not have any problem speaking English in this hotel, all the staff speaks English.
Swimming pool on the roof terrace is more of a baby pool. Lucky we were't there for summer. Otherwise it would have been a disappointment. The breakfast buffet was really good and the selection of yogurts, breads and beverages was more than adequate. The service was quite good.
