Ok, when it comes to souvenir shopping for my husband, he isn’t the easiest person to shop for. He doesn’t collect anything but guitars. Something I wouldn’t even begin to shop for. He doesn’t read much. Despite being Native American, you will never see a piece of turquoise on him. So about the only thing I can get him, is a T Shirt. I had already picked him up one at the Hard Rock and Alice Cooper’s restaurant. I hadn’t even though of it until we met up with several of our other party, and they were going in shopping. I decided to follow suite and go on in and pick up a shirt for John. The original dirt shirts were started in Hawaii as a result of Hurricane Iniki in September 1992. It cau...Read More

When on a major trip away from my family, I had to get gifts for everyone. That includes my babies. When Pam and I were assessing where we are going shopping, I spied the 3 Dog Bakery. So after our lunch, we went the shopping mall next door and I went shopping for my little ones. Founders Mark Beckoff and Dan Dye started making homemade natural treats for their 3 dogs (hence the name). While the owners 3 dogs have since passed, their spirit is makes this place special. They started the company in 1989 with one dog biscuit that cost 59 cents. They use all natural ingredients that include whole wheat flower, honey, eggs, oatmeal, carob, and molasses. Today the have stores all over North Ame...Read More

After hitting Montezuma’s Castle, we were headed to Williams to take the train to the Grand Canyon. Before our last stop of the day, we took a detour into Sedona to take a ride with the Pink Jeep Tour Company. The drive in here is nothing less than spectacular. This is red rock country. These sandstones come in brilliant colors from reds, to rust, to orange. These ranges have names such as Snoopy, Cathedral Rock, Cow Pies, and Rabbit Ears. There are about 11,000 people that call this charming city home. It is located in the Upper Sonora Dessert in Northern Arizonian. These formations began around about the Permian period. Our bus pulls up and since there are 51 one of us and 4 ...Read More

Overview. I arrived in Phoenix 2 days ahead of my travel agent trip, to enjoy this amazing city. While there I was fortunate enough to stay at the grand and luxurious Arizonian Biltmore . I even got Ron and Nancy’s room when they were visiting! Before I even check in, I checked out the Desert Botanical Gardens . Listed as one of The 1001 Gardens Before You Die . 5 minutes here and you will know why. On this trip, I got to check 3 things off my bucket list. The first was a hot air balloon ride. I took a ride with Hot Air Expeditions . This was simply an amazing and surreal experience that everyone should try at least once in their life...Read More

One thing you can be sure of at the Grand Canyon. That is that you can find plenty of places to spend you vacation dollars. There are about a dozen gift shops located within the park. Here they offer things from under a dollar to several thousands of dollars. They have everything from request souvenirs including post cards, T-Shirts, food stuffs, and toys. They offer up plenty of Native American crafts. There are books, DVD’s, and CD’s. And of course plenty of supplies such as sunscreens, batteries, memory cards, and disposable cameras. Below are my favorite stores: Bright Angel gift shop . This was the only place I found that has the squished penny machine in the...Read More
