This is a good hotel if you are just looking for a clean, comfortable, cheap place to stay. For $30.00 a night, I can't really complain too much. We arrived at the hotel and were delighted to see that this hotel too offered free valet parking. This being a budget hotel, I didn’t expect to find this service. Valet parking is pretty much a strip property standard service I guess. We got in line for check in and waiting about 35 minutes before getting checked in. This was miserable for us as it was 11:30pm and we had 2 kids with us. They just didn't have enough staff to check the all those guests in line. You would think that they would have it down pat by now with as long as they have been around. I’ve never waited more than 10 minutes at other Las Vegas Hotels to check in. We got to our room and found the room to be clean, updated, and nicely decorated. This appeared to be a newly refurbished room. ***Important*** Make sure you ask for a remodeled or refurbished room when checking in. I have heard that they have older rooms there which aren't as nice, we asked for a newer room and got one. The room came well equipped with cable TV, a hairdryer, iron and ironing board. There was also wireless internet available.

The hotel also has the only RV Park located on The Las Vegas Strip. I read that the spaces come complete with full-service utility hook-ups, a convenience store, arcade, laundry mat, playground, pet runs, and disposal stations.

The main attraction here is the Adventure Dome which is where the hotel makes its money other than on gambling. The Adventure Dome is an indoor theme park with thrill rides, 3D cinemas, arcade games, shops, food, and family oriented activities like rock climbing, miniature golf, and bowling. You can buy an all day pass for $24.95 for the thrill rides or pay per ride if you don't want to go on all the rides. All other attractions are extra $$.

They also have The Midway Carnival which is your classic collection of carnival games oriented towards all ages. This carnival also has a center stage which showcases circus acts by skilled acrobats which is FREE!

You can expect to spend about $50-$75 per person on all the rides, attractions, and games. I spent $240.00 for 2 toddlers, my wife, and myself in one afternoon.

The food at this hotel is ok. If you’re ok with fast food, I would recommend the Pizzeria or the West side deli. Otherwise, I would recommend venturing outside the hotel for a good dining experience as we found The Steakhouse not a very good value for what we ate. The buffet we found to be a good value as you can eat all day for $25.00. That includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner. As far as the buffet goes, I didn't find it to be very good for my standards. As far as the target customer is concerned, it's a low cost meal that doesn't limit you on how much you eat. I found the food adequate for the cost. Unlike most buffets in Vegas, the drinks are self serve.

The casino provides slot machines, blackjack tables, poker tables, roulette tables and much more. The Race and Sports Book has TV monitors, so you can watch your favorite teams, catch up on national events, or watch live horse races from the track on the giant TV screens.

The bottom line is that this hotel is on the strip, cheap, and family oriented. I would recommend this hotel only to the family man with a budget in mind. If you’re not on a budget, play here, visit here, eat elsewhere, and stay elsewhere.

Hotel | "Always Consistent and not Terribly Overpriced"

I've stayed here many times and have never been disappointed. I've been coming to this hotel for over 8 years and the quality of my stay is always superb. The rooms are always updated and clean. The staff is highly trained and customer service here is superior to other hotels outside of Vegas. Though you can expect to find this type of service at all the strip properties. The resort is catered to the average Joe, so it’s affordable to most visitors. It’s not too fancy or expensive and the theme is Old Hollywood. You'll never tire of the water ballet that happens every half hour later in the day till midnight. There is an art gallery which you can visit for a fee and also a great concierge service. The rooms are nicer than you'll expect. You immediately notice that they are bigger than your average hotel room in Vegas. The bed linens, sheets, and curtains are of higher quality than most other properties on the strip. Also there is marble flooring, a full-length mirror, a marble shower with seamless glass enclosure, duvets, electronic drapes, a flat-screen TV, and fully stocked mini bar in every room. You’ll pay anywhere from $259-$650 per night here depending on occupancy. Is it worth it? Probably not unless you’re trying to impress a girlfriend. Most people won't stay in their room long enough to enjoy the amenities. You can even stay for as low as $159.00 a night if you go on rare off peak days. I wouldn't plan my trip around that though because you'll find many attractions and entertainers on holiday those days. The hotel is top rated in cleanliness, service, and atmosphere. My advice is to eat at Bellagio, site see at Bellagio, gamble at Bellagio, but stay at one of its lower priced sister properties. You'll be just as happy with your room at MGM Grand or New York for half the price. Also stay away from the lake view rooms unless it’s a room with a balcony. You can't see the fountains that well from inside the glass in your room and won't be able to hear the music of the ballet. If you’re going to splurge, go all the way. Read Less

The last time I came to Vegas I was on a budget; so I decided to try the Rio out since they had the best rate at the time. I know the Rio has been around for a very long time, so I was expecting an outdated resort. I must say that this hotel far exceeded my expectations. The resort was very updated and I was surprised to learn that all rooms at this hotel were suites. This hotel boasts a friendly and very accommodating staff. I requested a strip view room and the clerk told me that it was an additional $10.00 per night usually, but that she would upgrade me for free. She then also gave me a coupon book loaded with discounts and freebies for its sister properties. One of the freebies was 2 tickets for free admissions to The Eiffel Tower at Paris which was a $30.00 value. Other freebies were free drinks, free automobile museum tickets, and buy one/get one buffets. When I got to our room, I was very impressed. It was more than 600 square feet of modern and spacious luxury, including a separate dressing area, couch, 32-inch TV, table with chairs, hairdryer, in-suite refrigerator, iron, ironing board and complimentary in-suite safe. The floor to ceiling windows provided an excellent panoramic view of the Las Vegas strip. The food at this hotel is amazing and priced just right. The buffet was superb and is probably the best I've eaten at in Vegas and only $24.00! From pizza to omelets, sushi to Tappan yaki, fresh carved meats to Asian barbecue, the Carnival World Buffet offers numerous distinct dining experiences from around the world featuring live-action cooking right before your eyes guaranteeing freshness and top quality. This hotel has two exciting nightclubs, four pools, a world-class spa and a beach and lagoon all to itself, the Rio has all the amenities you need for your stay in Vegas. In the casino, energetic dancers in exotic masks and costumes throw beads into the crowd from 7pm to midnight. Clowns and acrobats help boost the energy. There is also a multi-level main stage on the casino floor with a live band to provide the music for the show. The show is about 20 minutes long. Try going to the upper level for a good view of the action. You can also get in on the action yourself; for $12.95 you can get into costume and ride the floats.
