Rising up majestically along the banks of the Chao Phraya River, Wat Arun (the Temple of Dawn) is certainly hard to miss. Best way of getting there: From Pier 8 (Tha Tien), right by Wat Pho, take the cross-river ferry, which departs every 10-15min or so. Cost: 3 baht. Entry into Wat Arun is 50 baht (for foreigners).Throughout Wat Arun, though, you’ll see great details in the architecture and art – with a mosaic-like appearance of porcelain pieces covering the structures. Best itinerary for hitting the key Bangkok attractions in one go:- Take the skytrain (BTS) to Saphan Taksin station. Go down to the Sathorn pier downstairs to Chao Phrya Tourist/Express boat pier. . If you want a leisurely ride down the river, take the Chao Phraya Tourist boat (for 150 baht), which allows comfortable seating and an English/Thai speaking guide. The ticket will allow you unlimitd trips on this boat throughout the day, so is worthwhile if you will be jumping between piers. . If you want to brave a bit of crowds, though, you can take the signficantly cheaper ride with the Express boat that tends to be filled with locals and is standing room only. - ...Read More

Bliston Suwan Park View

Hotel | "Comfortable Stay in a Great Location"

Quote:
Bliston Suwan Park View offers a pleasant stay in Bangkok. While not the most modern or cheapest property selection for BKK, I selected this hotel in particular for several reasons: - Location: just a short walk from the Chidlom BTS station and CentralWorld making it convenient to get around or to pick up some groceries on the way home- Amenities: Being a service apartment/hotel, all apartments offer a full kitchen, with fridge, microwave, oven and full set of dishes/utensils. Perfect for my family that likes to stock up on fresh fruits, cold water or warm up food for a late night snack. - Value: Definitely reasonable price for the amount of space we got (full living room + kit...Read More
