An August 2001 trip
to Wertheim by Barb B
Quote: LOCATED HERE, at the meeting point of the Main and Tauber rivers, Wertheim is a delightful medieval town. Quaint half-timbered houses neatly aligned in rows along narrow lanes, ancient ruins dating from the 12th century, a classic museum of historic blown-glass, unique sculptures and abundant fountains await visitors of this uncrowded medieval town.
The rain poured as we arrived. We walked under umbrellas to visit many of the unique sculptures of Wertheim.
The rain continued as we walked amid the lanes of half-timbered houses.
Still, the rain remained as we stopped for lunch at the La Mama's Restaurant and watched local kids returning from school.
Finally, the rain stopped when we reached the Angels' Well-- the highlight of our visit in Wertheim.
