Don't Forget to Pick Up After Your Dog! Photo, Ireland, Europe
Quote:
Every time we'd walk back to our hotel (which located in the middle of a suburban neighborhood outside of Dublin), we would greeted by a sign reminding everyone to pick up after their dogs. I cracked up every time I saw the sign with a picture of a dog "doing his business".

We stayed at the Clontarf Castle, which was about a 10 minute bus ride from Dublin City Centre. We made this trip everyday (sometimes twice a day) for five days. The bus system in Dublin is terrific (and inexpensive) and most drivers are very helpful. If you plan on traveling to Dublin, there is no need to rent a car or stress about getting around. The Dublin Bus System is terrific!

Eddie Rocket's

Restaurant | "Very Disappointing"

My wife and I traveled across Ireland for 3 weeks. We were craving American Food and our concierge HIGHLY recommended Eddie Rockets. He said the burgers and shakes were just like those in the states. With high hopes, we set out for some American Diner food with an Irish flair. We couldn't have been more disappointed. The shakes were watery and the burgers tasted bland. Looking back, we probably shouldn't have gotten our hopes up, but after 2 1/2 weeks of Irish food, we couldn't help it. I definitely would not recommend Eddie Rockets for "authentic diner food".

Guinness Storehouse

Attraction | "A Little Slice of Heaven"

The tour of the storehouse itself is pretty good. The best part of the tour is definitely the end. The tour concludes in the "pub" and everyone is given a free pint of Guinness to enjoy with 270 degree views of Dublin. The views were breathtaking, but if you're a beer lover like me, the free pint was worth the price of admission to the storehouse. It was the most amazing, freshest pint ever!

Clontarf Castle

Hotel | "Great Hotel! Great Service! Historic Location!"

We arrived at Clontarf Castle at 10am after a long day (night) of traveling for a 4 night stay. Sensing we were exhausted, the staff did everything possible to make us comfortable. Our room wasn't ready yet, but they gave us a voucher for a complimentary lunch in one of the great restaurants in the castle itself. Combined with that, the included Irish breakfasts, decent workout room, and proximity to Dublin City Centre, this hotel is a great destination. In addition, the castle is a historic destination itself. One of the oldest castles in County Dublin, we discovered something new every time we walked to our room. A great destination!
