The Delafield Brewhaus is a restaurant and brewery located in Delafield. It is a small town located on Interstate 94 just outside the city of Milwaukee. The Delafield Brewhaus is open seven days a week. It is open until 11pm during the week and midnight on the weekend. Like most places in Wisconsin the Delafield Brewhaus makes its own beer on site. The brew house usually maintains about 7 to 9 beers on tap at all times. The beer selection changes often. However, there are four beers that are always on tap. They are the Dock Light, Delafield Amber, Sommerziet Hefe Weizen, and Pewaukee Porter. During our visit, the brew master had added four new beers to the menu. There was a Blackbe...Read More

The Milwaukee River is a 75 mile stretch of water that empties into Lake Michigan. The river cuts through downtown Milwaukee. The river is a tourist attraction in and of itself. Boaters constantly travel up and down the river sometimes stopping for dinner before heading back home. Tour companies offer river city tours and there are even water taxis to shuttle people up and down the river. The Milwaukee RiverWalk is a pedestrian walkway that goes the length of the river. Many shops and restaurants line the walkway with most having outdoor seating. The RiverWalk is given character by the many different art sculptures known collectively as RiverSculpture! On our first day ...Read More

Miller Brewing may be the largest brewery in Milwaukee, not to mention the entire state, but it has to compete with many different microbreweries around the area. A microbrewery is one which produces a limited amount of beer a year, and although the number varies, it is usually around 15,000 barrels. Brewpubs are essentially the same thing as microbrewery except they serve food and double as a restaurant. Microbreweries offer a chance to taste beers of a regional variety that may not be available outside the local area. The first brewpub we stopped at was the Milwaukee Ale House. It is located in the city’s historic Third Ward, which is an historic warehouse district located in downto...Read More

In 1855, German born brew master Fredrick Miller immigrated to the US and purchased the Plank Road Brewery. The brewery consisted of a modest Victorian house and today it has grown into the nation’s second largest brewery. Miller operates other breweries in Wisconsin, North Carolina, Ohio, Georgia, and Texas. In 2007, Miller and Coors, based in Golden, Colorado, agreed to a joint venture to market their products in an attempt to compete against Anheuser-Busch, the US’s largest brewery. The Miller Brewing Company offers tours Monday thru Saturday from 10:30am to 3:30pm. The Miller Visitor Center is located at 4251 State Street. There is a parking lot next to the visitor’s center and p...Read More

In downtown Milwaukee, you want find a JW Marriott or a Renaissance hotel, or even a basic Marriott. The high-end hotel for Marriott in downtown is surprisingly the Residence Inn. A hotel geared toward business travelers, it also makes a great choice for the average family looking for a good hotel in a great location. The hotel is located in the heart of downtown Milwaukee right next to the RiverWalk. As I checked into the hotel, I noticed the lobby had beautiful marble floors and marble staircases. The hotel staff was very friendly. When I mentioned that this was our anniversary and our first time in Milwaukee, she immediately changed our room to one with a view of the Milwaukee Riv...Read More
