A nice little property within walking distance to San Ignacio. I had a little one room cabin that was very clean. The grounds are very green and well cared for. They serve breakfast and sell water and beer all day. Midas has working wifi and a good place to hangout and chill after a wild day in San Ignacio.

The front desk staff was very helpful. They will make calls and arrange tours or rides. It made things much easier when I was in a pinch.

I'll be back.

Bob, the former owner of Eva's, now runs this tour operation in San Ignacio. He was doing push-ups when I walked in. All he needed to know is what I wanted to do and he said he'd make it happen. He did and in a few minutes I was set up for the ATM cave. The next day the Pacz van picked me up and we headed out to the Cave. It was awesome, Francisco was our guide and we toured the cave and had a little boxed lunch. Francisco was very careful and patient with us when we wanted to stop and take a picture or look at some feature of the cave. I will use these guys again.By the way, when Bear Grylls went to Belize to film an episode of Man vs. Wild he had a crew from Pacz including our guide Fran...Read More

The is a tour not to be missed if you plan on visiting Belize. ATM or Actun Tunichil Muknal Cave is a fascinating place where you can see evidence of Mayan sacrifices, skulls and pottery in their original resting place. It is truly a journey into a place you would never think exists or actually have such great, close access to.From San Ignacio it is a hour or so ride by shuttle to the trailhead. Then a half hour easy hike through dense green jungle and two shallow river crossings. i signed up with PACZ Tours, Francisco our guide led us through this great experience. Eventually you end up at a little shelter, stop to rest a bit. I went ahead and ate my provided lunch. Our group was about 8 ...Read More

Attraction | "Climb a Mayan Temple"

Seeing the ancient Mayan city of Tikal is a memorable experience. The entire complex is huge and consists of structures ranging from ball courts to soaring pyramids. I arranged my tour through PACZ in San Ignacio. It's an easy trip over to Guatemala from Belize. We spent the day walking through the city, admiring the amazing structures that had been carefully taken back from the jungle. You can even climb several of the pyramids. The views at the top are unmatched. Be careful, there's not many guard rails or safety measures. This adds to the raw experience and it's great to sit atop a pyramid a look straight down the many steps to the green grass below. Our guide was a bit chatty and next tim...Read More

Barefoot Beach Belize

Hotel | "Steps from the ocean, a nice place to rest."

On my visit to Cay Caulker, I was looking for a quiet place where I could relax and explore what this little island had to offer. Barefoot beach is a big house with several rooms and a few cabanas on the property as well. I stayed in a room that directly faced the ocean on the first floor. it had two rooms with a nice sized bedroom and a kitchen/living room. Upon checking in, the pleasant American owner gave me a tour, she told me a little about the place and got me settled. I had no complaints about the suite, it was much nicer than i expected. One touch I really liked was a complimentary big jug of drinkable water in the kitchen. It's nice not to have to keep buying water, I just ...Read More
