We took this trip to Albuquerque for our 9th Anniversary to see and do some things that we normally would not have. To start our Anniversary day celebration we scheduled a balloon ride through the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort with Rainbow Riders. It cost about $400.00 for the two of us, but the experience was well worth the money. Rainbow Riders comes to the hotel and picks you up at 6:30AM to take you out to a field in the middle of a suburb of Albuquerque. There were 2 or 3 companies and a number of private ballooners out there, all getting ready for balloon flights. This was one of the best moments of the experience in my opinion because you are out there with 8 to 10 balloons being filled and read...Read More

While staying in New Mexico my wife and I figured we better go see the Carlsbad Caverns before we left. I'm glad we did. We were not disappointed. What a wonderous place! We had a hotel a little north of Albuquerque, so it was quite a trip to get all the way down to the Carverns from there, but we got to see alot of the countryside along the way and even went through Roswell. The best way to really get the feel of how big the Caverns are, you need to walk in. It is truely amazing how big they are and how vast they are. I don't think you would really experience it if you just take the elevators down to the main rooms. It's a bit of a hike, but not bad. I'm 50 and in fairly good shape and I d...Read More

We spent our 9th wedding anniversary on vacation in New Mexico at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort. We made our anniversary dinner reservations at the Corn Maiden on the premises and were very pleased with the atmoshpere, the food and the service. The views of Sandi Peak are also great. They specialize in unique grilled meats with spicy New Mexico flavorings, such as Chorizo Sausage, Wild Boar sausage, and Rose Salted Rib Eye to name a few.

We had the Red Chili Escargot to start off, which were excellent. My wife had the Halibut Fillet and I had the Rack of Lamb. Both were very tastefully presented and were very good. It was a great evening and we will remember it for the rest of our lives.

We chose to stay at this resort on our visit because it had great reviews and was a little more remote than others in the area. It's located about 25 miles north of Albuquerque near a town called Bernalillo. It's actually located on the Santa Ana Pueblo. We were not disappointed. The facilities are excellent. They had a little of everything, the rooms were great and well appointed, they had a great pool area (with three pools), the onsite restaurants and lounge offered good food and service, they had the Twin Warriors golf course on the premises, and horse stables. The view from the outdoor lounge patio is awe inspiring! There is an unobstructed view of the Rio Grande River basin with Sandi...Read More
