I returned again this summer on a recent road trip but I have visited this magical little village many times throughout the years and each time I marvel at the quality of entertainment and art found there, not to mention the natural beauty of the lovely mountain setting. You are greeted as you enter the village by a large sign and the world "WILKOMAN" - Welcome - that sets the tone for the warmth and hospitality this mountain village is known for. Quick Tips: Best Way To Get Around: The best way to see Leavenworth is by car. There are many organized bus tours of the village but then you are restricted to a schedule. It's an easy drive along Highway 2 most of the year although ch...Read More

Comfortable, clean rooms and friendly staff. There is an outdoor pool only and jacuzzi. The Aloin Inn is within an easy stroll to the main street of Leavenworth with all its shopping and other activities but since it is of the highway a few blocks, you''ll find it extremely quiet.

Mouth watering Bavarian semmels served with German potatoe salad and a side of their special "winekraut" made up our delightfuly lunch. It was served by a cheerful young waiter who was especially helpful in assisting to plan our day's activities in Leavenworth. Pleasant, cozy atmosphere in the basement restraunt that reminded me of similar casual eateries I have visited in Europe. Large portions - reasonable prices - fun Bavarian ambiance. Live engertainment (accordian players, yodelers, etc.) are there sometimes though not during our lunch.

Just like grandma's house- that is if grandma's were a log cabin in the woods. The smell of freshly baked cinnamon rolls waft through the air as you walk in the door. This quaint log house bakery offers a huge array of fresh baked Bavarian goods - evrything from pastries to Europeon style breads. YUM! Don't miss this place.

What is it about yodeling that makes you want to tap your foot and warble along, if you only could? That is how I felt on a recent trip to the Bavarian village in the Cascade Mountains of Washington - Leavenworth. The atmosphere is set with the street lined with European looking doorfronts with window boxes of colorful flowers and quaint paintings on the shutters that make you feel as though you are Hansel or Gretel coming upon rows and rows of enchanted houses in the forest. They say that this Bavarian village has nore festivals that the entire state of Bavaria and I, for one, believe it! Nearly every month some sort of special event or festival is planned. Go in April a...Read More
