Getting Tickets

Getting tickets to the Big Ten Tourney was an experience in itself to observe. My husband and I opted to go with a reputable online site to get our tickets -- they guarantee that the tickets are valid, but you have to pick them up at a hotel. Once we got downtown, however, part of me wondered if we made the right choice paying the extra premium. There were tons of people offering to sell or buy tickets as we walked down the street. Since we had our tickets, I did not get what the prices were, but they seemed readily available. As were made our tour of downtown before the game, we had the opportunity the meet many fans. At least half of them came to Indy with no tickets, and wit...Read More

Attending Conseco Fieldhouse for the Big Ten Tournament was our first Conseco experience. We ordered tickets last minute and were able to get seats in the eighth row in section 101. I was a little concerned with the seats because the fell on the "ten thirty" area (if imagining the map of the court and seats to be a clock.) I really wanted to be on the middle level, though, so we bought those versus tickets higher up that were more central. When we got to our seats I was ecstatic with choice. The view of the court was great, although the view of the jumbo tron left a little to be desired. Entrance into Conseco was easy. The lobby was decorated with Big Ten memorabilia, with each tea...Read More

We stopped at Houlihan's on our way to Conseco to have one last beer before the game. There is a restaurant section in the center and right hand side of Houlihan's, and a very large open bar section on the left. We sat at the bar and were served within 5 minutes. My husband got a beer, and I ordered a mojito. His beer came in seconds, but my mojito took a few minutes. That being said, the restaurant was very crowded, and the bartender was really nice and apologized for the delay. We did not get food this time, but have on a previous occasion. I do not recall the exact prices of our meals, but found them to be reasonable. I remember that the food was really go...Read More

This restaurant was great. We stopped in as we had heard good things about this restaurant from co-workers, and I had a good feeling about eating here. (I understand any eye rolling, but it's sports.)As we went through the first set of doors, I knew that I had been correct. Painted on the second set of doors, was painted "The Unofficial Official OSU Bar."We opted to sit at the bar as we find it to be more social, and enjoyed the decorations. There were Ohio State flags, banners, and pennants hanging throughout the restaurant. This was obviously a seasonal decoration approach, but much appreciated by my husband and myself. I did notice decorations that also reflected India...Read More

I will preface this review with the fact that we were here for the Big Ten Basketball Tournament on the weekend preceding St. Patrick's Day. I'm certain that some references might not have occurred (I loved them, just don't want people to think that this establishment is frequently promoting Kegs and Eggs) We walked by this pub (which serves food) on a pre-game "tour." We were greeted by a man next to the pub standing outside of a party tent, promoting Kegs and Eggs inside the bar. (Oh to be young again... ) As I find Kegs and Eggs to be a college event, I figured that this might be a good stop. We weren't sure exactly what to expect, but decided to go in and have a bee...Read More
