Key West Experience

Overview

Quote:
There is so much to do on this small island. Whether you want to relax in the sun or party on Duval Street, there are so many options. My personal favorite was taking the shuttle to the Sunset Key (a small island owned by the Hilton). We were pampered and catered to all day on this beautiful island. We also took a ride on the Conch Train, which was a great way to learn the history of the island. Duval Street had to be my favorite spot. You can shop, listen to music, eat, drink, or party on this strip, and I did a little of everything.Quick Tips: It is very hot in the summer, but most places had the air-conditioning turned up. Best Way To Get Around: Don't drive! Rent a bicycle or...Read More

We had a great experience at the Hilton. The room was big, well-decorated and very air conditioned. There was a concierge on hand to give you suggestions and make reservations for you. They have a nice pool and a great pool bar. You can watch the legendary sunsets at the Hiltons roof top bar. However, a day at the Sunset Key was the Hilton''s best feature.

I had heard so much about Blue Heavan before visiting Key West and it was all true. You really get a feel for the Key West experience when you dine here. The food was amazing (try the Seafood Benedict) and the atmosphere was relaxing.

The first thing we did in Key West was go to Margaritaville and have a "Cheeseburger in Paradise" and a margarita. The food was great and the atmosphere was fun. The Jimmy Buffett music playing in the background was an added bonus.

Sloppy Joe's was one of my favorite bars on Duval Street. The food and drinks were good. There were plenty of tables and seating for everyone. Good bands play there nightly.

The Sunset Celebration was great! There are a number of performers that start setting up around 7pm and the celebration ends with the sun setting around 8:15 (August). There were acrobats, tight rope walkers, firebreathers, jugglers, henna artists, jewelery stands all set up on Mallory Square. It was very crowded and hard to get a place near the railing over looking the water. However, it was a nice experience but I wouldn't do it every night.
