On our way to Florence we stopped in Orvieto which was a nice way to break up the trip and see a neat town. It would also be a good day trip from Rome or Florence.

We didn't do much other then wander around the town. It has many awesome streets and picture opportunities. While we were there the Duomo had scaffolding on it so we couldn't see the front which was a bummer.

The Duomo in Florence is amazing! Well worth it to go inside and look around. We didn't make it to the baptistry, but I have heard that is worth going into also. Make sure to spend some time relaxing outside in the square as it is pleasent if it's not too busy.

This is the museum where the David is displayed. Other than the David there are a few statues also done by Michelangelo. The museum was packed while we were there, and pictures were not allowed. While I enjoyed the David I don't think it lived up to all the hype and was just too busy to be enjoyable. I would recommend it if you are a huge Michangelo fan but if not there are many other museums in Florence.

Florence was my favorite town to just walk around. It is small in size and has amazing buildings and churches around every corner. The main areas of town are busy with tourists but if you get off the main streets there are few fewer people. The Ponte Vecchio bridge is well worth wandering to along with to the Medici Chapels. We didn't go inside much as we only had one day, but I would love to go back to Florence to see it more in depth.
