Experience the Energy of Niagara Falls

A November 2005 trip to Niagara Falls by J'aimeParis

Quote: I visited Niagara Falls New York & Canada twice. Both times during USA Thanksgiving week in November. There is a slow pace, peace and quiet. I was amazed that there is more to do, in addition to viewing the Falls of course, in Canada than in the US.

In Niagara Falls Canada there is plenty to do. Keeping in mind I was there in late November, all of the restaurants I saw were open, although hours were abbreviated and some had smaller menus. Can't blame them. There is a variety of food selection and price ranges. As you can see in the photos the attraction to go down behind and beside the Horseshoe Falls was open. That is very cool. There are also some exhibits that share stories of the feats people have attempted at the Falls. The Maid of the Mist was closed for the winter season. It closes mid November. There are several casinos on the Canada side. Some old, some very new. They are all walkable from city centre, or a short c...Read More

In Niagara Falls NY there is not nearly as mush to do (as in canada) outside of going to the Park and Goat Island. Walking around and beside the American Falls and crossing the bridge over the Niagara River to Goat Island was very nice. The air was crisp and the grounds nice to stroll and relax your thinking. The Hard Rock Cafe (both sides have a Hard Rock) was open as were a couple of other small cafe. Ice cream shops and other retail establishment were closed. There is one casino that I saw - pretty new and glitzy.I flew into Buffalo NY and drove maybe 45 minutes to the US park. The last part of the drive is along the Niagara River. As you make that drive you can feel the ene...Read More

I flew into Buffalo NY and drove maybe 45 minutes to the US park. The last part of the drive is along the Niagara River. As you make that drive you can feel the energy level escalate. The energy at the Falls is palpable and creates a very positive vibe. You can also fly into Hamilton Ontario Canada. It is about 90 km or 55 miles form Niagara Falls Canada. There are at least four bridges that access both Canada & USA Falls. The Peace Bridge (toll - pedestrian & motor) is between Buffalo NY and Fort Erie Ontario. It is 20 km or 12.4 mi upriver of Niagara Falls. Three other bridges are the Rainbow Bridge (see photograph), Lewiston-Queenston Bridge (motor only), and the Whirl...Read More
