Hershey, PA

My family and I just got back from a trip to Hershey PA. Hershey park is huge. Alot of hills so it's hard when you're trying to push a stroller. My kids loved this place. There's a ton of water rides so make sure you arrive with your bathing suit on! Bring shorts because park personnel will stop you and tell you to put shorts on when you are out of the water areas. The food in the park is not that great. After two days of park food I was ready for something healthy and fast!!

Quick Tips:

Wear your bathing suit to the park and bring bottoms with you. Bring shirts for the boys. I had my boys wear thier bathing suits and swim shirts all day. That was acceptable for park personnel. They stop you and tell you to put clothes on in the dry ride areas.
Plan to go to Hershey's Chocolate World on your last day because chocolate will melt in the car if you have other destinations to move on to!
Bring towels. Bring a wagon to pull your stuff around in...even if you don't have kids! There are a lot of shops to buy stuff.

I have to say my family and I looked forward to going to Hershey park for a long time. We finally made it there and it was so much fun. My kids are 7, 6, and 3. There were rides there for all ages. There is a huge water park there called the Boardwalk. In the Boardwalk is a water works city. This attraction is CRAZY! Kids love it, but you will LOOSE YOUR KID on this attraction. Try to watch only one kid at a time while in this attraction. It's crazy fun, but more on the crazy side! I don't think the staff knows enough to not let a kid off this attraction without an adult. We had a scare with our nephew but luckily we found him at the very top.
The Farenheight is the scariest roller coaster in the park. It really looked scary. My husband never got a chance to go on it, but if you love roller coasters then you should try it.
Hershey Park has a lot of hills so you will get a workout pushing your little ones in the stroller.
We saw some shows while walking through the park. I am always amazed at the talented people that these parks employ. There was one show with 4 young men singing quartet style. They were fantastic!
The food in Hershey park seemed to be the typical unhealthy park food. Nothing extraordinary. I could only handle one meal a day at the park. The food was unbelievably expensive! A cup of lemonade was 3.50!
All in all I do highly recommend Hershey Park. There are rides for little kids, big kids and all kids in between. There are trains, cars, spinning rides, water rides, you name it. Of course there are characters to take pictures with when you enter the park too.

Hershey Gardens was lovely. Tons of beautiful photo opportunity. My family spent hours there and we consisted of 3 adults and 5 kids from ages 2 to 7. Hershey Gardens was just a joyful beautiful place to be. The kids could run free and soak in the beauty of all the flowers. There was a rose garden, japanese garden, children’s garden...and even a garden of ornamental grasses. There were other gardens too. I did not bother with the ornamental grass garden…that just seemed a little boring to me. The best part was the butterfly house located at the beginning of the children’s garden. There were tons of beautiful butterflies fluttering around. They were landing on us left and right. The employees in the butterfly house were very knowledgeable and friendly. They answered all the questions that my kids had about butterflies. You have to be very careful where you walk because you don’t want to step on any by accident. They also want you to check yourself on your way out so that you don’t take a stoaway out with you!! I took a lot of pics of flowers and butterflies. I went a little nuts actually. I have an art project in mind for all those pics. There was a really nice tree in the garden that all our kids could sit on. I got a nice picture of them on the tree. There is a small gift shop at the garden. Of course, they make you walk thru it in order to leave! I just closed my eyes so I would not want to buy anything. Oh, and there is a fee to get in. Adults are 10.00 and kids are 6.00.
