This hotel is not in the city of Niagara Falls, ON, but it is close enough to qualify as a Niagara Falls lodging. It is in the small town of St. Catharine's at the mouth of the Welland Canal and on Lake Ontario. Ypu have a quick drive down the QEW into Niagara Falls.

Since this is not a "tourist trap" hotel - it seems to cater more to the business crowd - there is not a lot to do within walking distance, but if you want to explore the countryside, it is a wonderful place to stay. They have a pool, whirlpool and exercise room along with a sauna and changing areas. The restaurant off the main lobby made some very tasty breakfasts and also had a breakfast buffet if you like to go that route. Their fresh fruit was superb, melon, watermalon, bananas, strawberries and grapes that you could pile on your waffles and french toast. The omelets left a little to be desired as far as I was concerned. I'm used to a lot of cheese in my omelets (guess that is a southern thing) and they barely put a tablespoon's worth in and charged me an extra dollar for it.

The suite that we had reminded me if a turret. If there was a flashing neon sign outside, I would have felt as though I was in Moulon Rouge. There were skylights above windows in each room. The only problem was that the early morning light came through the coverings on the skylights (they were not blackout shades) and woke us up a little earlier than we had planned. Our suite had a small wet bar with a fridge and microwave in the living room area and a nice, large computer desk also. The extra electrical outlet in the lamp base made it easy to use the computer without having to crawl under or behind furniture to plug it in. I think that these lamps should be in every hotel that has a computer hookup. It was pure luxury!

The adjustable shower and curved shower rods that Starwood introduced so many years ago are now almost standard in all hotels, but I still think of them as "Starwood" items. I also really liked the fact that the shampoos, soaps and lotions have a "green' fragrance that is appealing. The "Heavenly" beds are the most comfortable ones I've slept in while on the road (and the pillows and bedclothes don't hurt either).

Use the Four Points as your headquarters if you plan to do more than just see the Falls. You are in the middle of a diverse area, rich in history and beauty. There are several "tours" that you can take - including a "beer tour". Stay outside the tourist areas and actually see the country. It is worth the drive. Read Less

Beverages are not included in the price of your ticket. Alcoholic beverages are available - local beers are a favorite - but you also have to pay for iced tea and colas.

Our show had most of the girls getting louder cheers during the performance than the boys did. I'm sure that the plea that our female server gave (it seems that there is a running "bet" as to who will generate the most cheers and the losers have to do the laundry of the others) won the hearts of our table since there were only two men there.

Trivial Pursuit is the vehicle for the bits and pieces woven together for the show. The information given to you during the performance explains the pride of the locals in the accomplishments of their fellow countrymen and women. My favorite part of the show was when they sang songs composed and performed by Canadians. So many of my personal favorites are on that list.

The only "problem" that I could see is that the theater is in an area studded with "gentlemen's clubs". It is the oldest tourist area and it does not wear age well. The theater is in a newer building and has adequate free parking on premises. Be sure to arrive on time since they will not start serving until the audience is seated. We had to wait over 15 minutes for a tour bus to arrive. We were hungry and the wait seemed a lot longer while we waited for those late arrivals to be seated.

Enjoy the show and the dinner. It is a wonderful diversion for families who are often tired of the "tourist rat race".
