A favorite relaxing spot for guests
It was a really enjoyable vacation for my husband and I in Delray Beach, Florida, in February 2008, having two timeshare weeks at The Dover House, off of Highway A1A...and just a couple of blocks from Delray's Atlantic Avenue.

Delray Beach has a very vibrant downtown! Atlantic Avenue is lined with many unique shops and boutiques, as well as many fine restaurents. At some of these restaurents, you can dine outdoors! Many look to be "sidewalk cafes"!

The Dover House is comprised of three two-story buildings ~ all timesharing! Ours was on the second level, and from the balcony we had a view of the Atlantic Ocean. We really loved strolling the white sand beaches of the Atlantic there!

Also, the Dover House has a beautiful courtyard, flowers everywhere...and flowers follow you down the path to the resort's outdoor pool. Palm trees line one side of the pool. Very pretty foliage in the entire area!

We could tell that the pool is quite the gathering place for guests at this resort...we had some good conversations with some very friendly folks!

The staff at Dover House are also very friendly and helpful ! !

Quick Tips:

Be sure and visit "Boston's By The Beach" if you're looking for a favorite bar and restaurent in the area. Great food, great place to watch the big games!

Louie Louie Too is a top Italian restaurent on Atlantic Avenue! A real fine dining experience is to be had here!

You'll want to visit the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens, while in Delray! It is the "Essence of Japan in Florida", and is indeed very lovely! There is much to see on the pathways through the Gardens! Have your camera ready!

Also, while in the Gardens...you can have a delightful "Japanese-style" lunch...and a visit to the lovely gift shop is a MUST!

Catch the beautiful views of the Intercoastal Waterway, as you cross the big bridge - by foot, on the walkway - that crosses Atlantic Avenue.

Best Way To Get Around:

Walk! We walked Atlantic Avenue many times, sometimes all the way down to the Tennis Center and the city library, which is about 15 blocks from the Dover House.

You'll need a car to get to more distant spots...such as the Japanese Gardens!
