I found Hunter’s Friend on the internet with a very reasonable rate and thought we’d give it a try. It is an older motel but the room was very clean. When I checked in I was told they didn’t have many booked for the weekend so our room was upgraded to a kitchenette room. I thought that was really nice as it gave us a lot more space. Our main purpose in Branson was to spend time at Silver Dollar City and the location of this motel was fantastic for that. It is only a few minutes drive away and in the opposite direction most of the traffic is going. A motel room with one king bed or two doubles was $36 from early Sept to late May then the price went up to only $45 a night. The kitchen was fully equipped with dishes and had a few pots and pans for cooking, however there was no coffee for the coffeepot. The refrigerator was not full size but was larger than the small apartment size ones and it kept things really cold. Even though the room was really large and comfortable the bathroom was overly small. It had room only for the shower and commode so the sink was outside the door adjoining the kitchen area. A nice size snack bar with 4 chairs done double duty as counter space and a dining table. The two beds were covered with matching rustic quilt looking comforters. The mattresses could have been a little firmer but they were not so bad as to cause a poor nights rest. The motel was located close to the end of Indian Point and is probably a 7-10 minute drive from Branson. There was a restaurant very close to the motel and a small market across the street that served deli sandwiches and ice cream. We had brought along breakfast foods and just snacked for supper in the room so we didn’t try either one. I believe these were the only two places to get a meal without driving back to town, this might be a disadvantage but I felt the convenience to SDC was worth it. As I said it was an older motel and you could see that the room was a little worn but everything was very clean and we had a wonderful stay. Read Less
