Best of IgoUgo

A July 2001 trip to Aruba by Cosmic Gryl

Quote: This caribbean Island is different from most because it is basically a desert. Thre is plenty of cactus & Aloe all over the island, growing wild. Rain does not often come. This is a small island - 19 miles long & 6 miles wide but it is quite beautiful.

Romantic Vacation in Aruba

Best Of IgoUgo

Overview

Quote:
I recommend the De Palms Tour company for any snokeling trips trips you may want to experience. I also recommend the Tatoo party boat which leaves the De Palm Pier at 8pm and returns sometime around midnight. It includes dinner, live band, DJ and drinks galore. The dinner is mediocre but the experience of partying on a wild crazy boat while sailing up the coast of Aruba in the beautiful moonlight well makes up for the dinner. Believe me, you will have a great time on this boat. Quick Tips: My suggestion to you if you don't have a lot of money to spend while vacationing is to do one or two of the Time Sharing tours. They will be people all around trying to get you to agree to the t...Read More

Sonesta Hotel & Resort

Hotel | "Sonesta Hotel & Resort"

This hotel sits on the Marina. It is also inside a mall and has its own 24 hour casino. Since the hotel is not on a beach, they have a private 40 acre island for your suntanning and watersport needs. They have a free ferry ride to the island which you pick up in the hotel lobby. Yes, the boat comes right into the lobby of the hotel to pick you up. The island is about a 10 minute ferry ride away. The island has a nature trail, gym, tennis courts and a restaurant/bar. They have two different beach areas. One for families that has the restaurant/bar located right there. The other beach area is considered adult and topless bathing is allowed. Topless only. This beach also has two pink flaming...Read More

The Waterfront Seafood Crabhouse

Best Of IgoUgo

Restaurant

Quote:
This restaurant offers breakfast at pretty reasonable prices. It opens at 8am and the breakfast prices range from $2.95 for two eggs, toast, and hashbrowns to $6.95 for a salmon breakfast. It is near the water so you can have a very relaxing breakfast. It is near the Sonesta Suites which generally where most of its customers stay. For the money, you can't beat it for breakfast. The food is pretty basic in taste. Not to flavorful, not too bland. Just your basic breakfast for your basic price.

Tatoo Party Boat

Best Of IgoUgo

Attraction

Quote:
The Tatoo Party Boat is very popular in Aruba. Even the locals take their dates on the boat and when we were on the boat, there was even a bachelorette party group on the boat. The boat can accommodate up to 300 guest. They provide dinner (all you can eat), a live band and also a DJ playing the latest music (American, Latin, Carribean, Hip-Hop, Pop). The boat has 4 decks and even features a waterslide and rope for jumping into the water. So if you want to swim, bring a bathing suit. The boat leaves the pier at 8pm and returns around midnight. It cruised up the coast of the island in the beautiful moonlight. This cruise is great for those who want to really party and have a good w...Read More

Sea Star Snokeling Sensation Cruise

Best Of IgoUgo

Attraction

Quote:
We took the SeaStar package which was a 5 hour day of snokeling, lunch and open bar aboard SeaStar catamaran cruiser. We went to two sites, one at the private De Palm Island which was filled with the most beautifully colored fish I have ever seen. The reef they have at this island is incredible. So many fish and plant life to explore. You are at this site for about an hour, afterwards its back on the cruiser for lunch (all you can eat) and the bar is still open. The second site is a deep sea snokeling site which is in the middle of the Carribean Sea near the Manchelo Beach. Here you will snokel in depts of 30 - 40ft. You will have a guide in case of any mishaps and the water and the fish at...Read More

Time Sharing Property Tours

Best Of IgoUgo

Story/Tip

Quote:
I would definitely recommend you take advantage of all the people offering you free gifts to spend one hour of your time viewing their property for a possible purchase of Time Sharing. We did two of these and had no intentions of purchasing anything. They knew this but the gifts they offer are the incentive to get you to come to the property. If you buy, great, if not, you get the free gift for your time. The first time share we did was for one of the Divi Phoenix, a new property in Palm Beach. It was very nice but I had no intention of making a purchase. We did the tour and for our trouble, we were given a $100 certificate for use with De Palm Tours. We used the certificate for a...Read More
