A July 2001 trip to Victoria by marcopolo
Quote: My wife and I and a dear couple from Atlanta ventured across the Straits of Georgia from Victoria to Vancouver. Our intrepid boat was called "Moon Shadow," a locally produced boat known as a Camano.

The owners are a young energetic couple who know how to make a patron feel at home. It is a true family venture with a younger sister and mother very much in evidence. Tine Jorgensen is the young wife and Leonard is the culinary arts graduate chef. The restaurant specializes in steak, salmon, lamb, and excellent salads. There is a pub section in the back to the right of the dining room and the pub food offered there is superb. The bar is well stocked and the waitresses are very experienced and extremely well trained. It is a joy to eat there. It is the kind of exceptional place that makes you want them to do well because the owners have worked so hard and have so much to offer.

At the business end of the Marina you could purchase diesel fuel, gas, water, and use the wash room or showers. You could also rent a canoe if you like but we had our dinghy and passed on the canoe. There were baby-sitters available and hiking tours being offered. There was too much water and too many harbors to see for any of that and we were off after lunch. Before leaving Pender Island it must be noted that only 2000 or so folks live there. It has a nine hole golf course and a mall in addition to another marina. It also has a campsite for those that like to get away from the crowd.
