Kauai at the Last Minute

This place came highly recommended and I'm glad we went here for lunch. The Saimen is like a soup choked full of favors and textures. Broth, noddles, pork, eggs, and vegetables all served up in a hardy bowl. The diner is locted in Lihue and the atmosphere reminds me of what an old diner in Kauai may have looked like.

The food here is great and the price is right!

My wife and I thought this would be a great idea, and it was. You start out at the mouth of the river and kayak in about two miles, then hike another mile or so back to a hidden waterfall. While your there you have a sandwich lunch provided by the tour guide and relax in the waterfall pool. It was a great adventure. Seeing and swimming under a remote waterfall was a great experience. The river is beautiful and the river valley is lush and green.

I found the kayak to be a little tough on my back (needed more back support), but the trip was alot of fun and we were able to see and experience something we would not normally see if we hadn't ventured out on this adventure. The company and tour guide was excellent.

This place is awesome at sunset! We heard about this place from a friend and we were not disappointed. They open the entire side of the restaurant at sunset so you can wander out onto the lawn that's on the beach, and watch the sun go down. What an experience, just like what you would see in the movies. The Hawaiian surfers paddling out into the surf standing up with the sun setting behind them, the warm ocean breeze blowing through your hair, and a cold drink in your hand. Definitely a great evening!

The food is also very good and fresh. I would strongly recommend this place to anyone!. Tip: Reservations are tough to get. A local told me that you can get in without a reservation if to get there at openning and sit in the bar. They also will serve you at the bar as well.
