The Omni Shoreham is a luxury hotel situated in the Addams-Morgan district of Washington D.C. and a short walk from the Woodley-Zoo Park Metro Station. Given the descriptors of the Omni that I had read and given the service standard of the Omni chain, in general, I was expecting a wonderful oasis when our taxi pulled up to the front door. We arrived; however, just as a giant and chaotic, teenage-filled anime conference was wrapping up on the premises. We walked through the door to find that the lobby had been cleared of all furnishings and was utterly devoid of any trace of promised luxury. Quite the opposite, the entire ground floor of the hotel was littered with teenagers: smelly, egocentric, lou...Read More

A family of three (mom, dad and toddler (18 months)), we arrived in Washington, D.C. famished and looking for nourishment. The Woodley Café was one of about a half-dozen restaurants situated along a little strip of a street near the Omni Hotel, the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel and a short walk from the National Zoo (Woodley Park-Zoo Metro Station). We scoured street for a family friendly sit-down restaurant and the Woodley Café appeared as though it would fit the bill. It was a Sunday afternoon and despite the odd hour (3 p.m.), the restaurant was fairly busy with brunch-goers. We were seated relatively quickly and our son was welcomed with open arms. A high chair appeared and it seemed as though a...Read More
