I was really looking forward to eating at Geronimo Restaurant in New Haven as I watched it being built over the last few months. The restaurant is beautifully designed and decorated with obvious care. I went there three times. The first time I went it was the first week they had opened so let me skip the disaster we experienced with the food. I could forgive opening week jitters. The Second time we visited, my friends really wanted to try the new place in town out. The tamales were simply awful and the the rest of the dinners came out of the kitchen staggered by fifteen or so minutes. Worst of all one of the beef dishes and the halibut were burned to a crisp and were as tough as a doggie chew. The waitress apologetically informed us that the chef was having a bad day and that he had a fight with his wife? I don't know how I was convinced to go the third time but none of us will go back, for certain and let's keep it at just that because I've rambled on too much at this point. Never again. Too bad because I was really rooting for this place. If the food stays this bad they should focus on being a bar because it is a beautiful place.
