This wonderful little hotel next to Lister Park is a genuine oasis in Bradford. A city not known for its boutique hotels, Lister Mansion really breaks the mould. We got a room on laterooms.com for £85 dinner bed and breakfast for 2. Our room had a 4 poster bed, flat screen TV, very modern bathroom with large Jacuzzi and underfloor heating. This seems to be a family run hotel, the waiter for dinner was back in the morning and would appear to be the owner / manager. Dinner itself was modern British in style, very enjoyable and we were able to choose any 3 courses from the a la carte. Huge portions.....this is yorkshire! The restaurant itself was quite for a Saturday night, which is a shame as the food is very good value for money. I would guess most other diners were guests.
In the morning breakfast was also excellent and cooked to order. We enjoyed a walk in the beautiful park over the road before leaving. This hotel would be a godsend for people staying in the area for business, especially at the price we paid. It is by no means a 5 star chain hotel, we had an electric heater in the room as it was cold and the underfloor heating was not working, however the staff are excellent and it is trying very hard. There really is no where in the area which compares.
