Maui is so beautiful and has so much to offer, whether you'd like to relax, thrill-seek, or do both! Everything we did on Maui was well worth our time, and I would recommend those things to anyone. We went to the Old Lahaina Luau, took a helicopter tour, whale watched, and took the sunrise bike tour on Mount Haleakala. Quick Tips: DO take a picnic lunch to Hana. This is something we did not do, and we regretted that later. DON'T bother going to the Maui Ocean Center. It was alright, but nothing very special. I have seen way better in California. DO take a ride around the island. The views are gorgeous and you'll never know what you'll run into!Best Way To Get Around: I would defin...Read More

The Grand Wailea is breathtaking. The entrance is filled with palm trees and lush landscaping that gives you that Hawaiian feel right away. Everything is white and looks very clean and open. The resort is very large and has walkways filled with waterfalls and beautiful flowers everywhere you turn. The pool area has many different pools, including spas, swim-up bars, and children's areas. The private beach was my favorite part and the view from it was gorgeous. Our room was very spacious and I loved it's design and furnishings. We had a balcony with a view, which was of the grounds of the resort, beach, ocean, and another part of the island. However, there was construction nearby which took from...Read More

Kincha is a themed contemporary Japanese restaurant. The atmosphere made it feel like you were really in Japan. The service and food was excellent. I had the Kobe steak which was the best steak I've ever had. My mom, sister, and I all ordered a different dessert, and they were all amazing. The plating was beautiful and very artistic.

My mom, sister, and I went on the Sunrise Tour to Mount Haleakala, which is a volcanic crater. For this tour, a van picks you up at 3am so that you can make it for the sunrise at the top of the crater. Your group and about three other groups of people are picked up before you head to their offices to watch a safety video and pick up helmets and other gear. You then drive to the mountain, and drive up for quite a while before reaching the top. It was freezing cold at the top. So much so that I didn't get out of the van to watch the sunrise. Pity though, because my mom DID and she got some amazing pictures. After sunrise it's time to get on your bike. I was really nervous because I hadn't been on a bik...Read More

The Old Lahaina Luau is set right along the beach and is set up beautifully. The staff are very friendly and fun! The show is entertaining and is great for your first night in Maui. The food is okay, but I AM a picky eater so I'm not sure that you can trust my opinion. Either way, it is worth it!

The helicopter tour is one of the best experiences we had on the island. It really gives you a sense of how big/small (depends on how you look at it!) the island is, where everything is, and how beautiful it is! You will see farmland, waterfalls, Haleakala Crater, and miles and miles of ocean. We even saw humpback whales right under the ocean surface! The tour is narrated by the pilot and is videotaped along with everyone's face in the helicopter. You may purchase the video when you land! If you get motion sickness, you should probably take dramamine before the tour, from what I have heard. Bumpy and/or fast rides never faze me! Also, the elevation does mess with your ears and is quite irritating. How...Read More
