While we were staying with some friends on the outskirts of Malaga, we were taken by our friend to this strange and beautiful park in the center of town. When we arrived, we were told that this was a special and unique park and we should have our cameras ready and waiting. I really had no idea what to expect until I turned around and saw a group of roosters coming at me in a slow manner. I nearly jumped when I saw them coming out of the bushes, but our host just laughed as we both went ghostly white. If you spend a week in Malaga, you could do a new walking map each day and have the be...Read More

Alcazaba

After walking along the promenade in Malaga, my girlfriend and I headed up the street to find the Picasso Museum. Along our way we came across this place called Alcazaba, which to me looked like a giant fort. Upon entering this giant fort, I learned a lot about this place. It turns out his place is actually the fort for a larger area for the old Muslim fort called Gibralfaro. The Alcazaba was a military fortress built by the Moors in the 11th Century on the remains of a Roman fortress. With its views of the water to foresee an attack, this fortress originally had three high walls (with two still standing) and more than 100 towers around residential areas and three palaces. Now, if...Read More
