Breckenridge in the Spring

An April 2006 trip to Breckenridge by LBGB

Took the family to Breckenridge for Skiing in April. Valdoro Lodge was very lovely, the skiing was a blast for us as well as the 4 and 5 year olds! The short trips to Vail and snowmobiling also well worth the adventure.

Very lovely, beautiful leather couch. Luxurious marble master bath. Very up to date kitchen. Lots of bedroom space with 2 well decorated bedrooms. Cozy private balcony. Really nice staff when needed but not in your face.
Truly only one downside: The pool access was some type of borrowed or community pool next door in bubble, ot as appealing as the rest of the vacation.

Getting used to the altitude was our biggest surprise. We were lightheaded and thirsty more than we expected. Very tired coming from the East Coast. Other than that, being in the Rocky Mountains was an experience not to be missed. Hopefully repeated soon! We've skied all over the French and Italian Alps and in Tremblant Canada (East) and Whistler British Columbia and this was as memorable not only for the skiing but also for ambience. This isn't as fancy as what I hear many US sites, this was peaceful, charming and comfportable for many different kids of people. Very patient and polite young adults working all over the town, must be the lack of oxygen!!!
