Fantastic deal on accommodation. Santa Clara does not have that many tourists so they are treated here with extra care. This casa particular- Hostal was arranged for me from casa particular in Trinidad where I got a deal of 15 CUC per night, here I got the same price even if it is normally 20 CUC.
The house itself is an architecture treasure. It stands right on the corner of the main square but the room has windows to the side street which eliminates potential noise.
Mail living area is on the first floor-of a building with really high ceilings so you are quite high up and the views from the balcony are amazing.
In this place I got the biggest room of all my travel ever. Room had one double bed and one single bed, fridge fan and rack for storing your backpack. Through the little hallway-belonging to your room, you reached a dancing floor-ohhh no it is a bathroom! Very nice, very big, very clean and with toilet paper.
If you do not want to be in your room you may wonder through other commune rooms of the house packed with beautifully carved furniture and colorful ceramics.
Dinner is provided in the house if you wish on the hour you wish for about 7 CUC, (breakfast for 3CUC.) When I got here the fastest thong to be prepared for dinner was pork-well not quite like it but I was hungry. When I got the pork on my plate I could not believe it was pork. The meat was so tender and so tasteful I have never been eating pork so tasteful. The dinner was accompanied with typical rice, side fried potatoes and mixed salad. All quite nice and fresh.
The people here were very friendly, they came to pick me up from the bus station and arranged a lift for me for the next day. Very kind people.
