The Gulfview resort is a recently renovated hotel in a great location. Pier 60 is in easy walking distance and Shepard's beach resort is right next door. A Walgreens is right down the street also.
The staff was very friendly and helpful - One staff member gave us a great recommendation to go to HoneyMoon Island and another printed our boarding passes for us.
Our room was good sized and had a comfortable king sized bed. Our room had a fridge and coffee maker. The views of the Gulf and Sand Key were amazing. At night we sat on the balcony and listened to the bands play.
The hotel has an on site restaurant and pool side tiki bar which are very nice also.
There is no beach at the resort but the beach is in easy walking distance.

French's Rockaway Grill is a popular beachside restaurant. The Grouper sandwich and grouper stuffed with crabmeat are execellent. The beer is cold and cheap.
There is outside and inside seating - try to get the outside seating to encjoy the gulf sunsets. Expect to wait for seating on the weekends - especially for out side seating.
We didn't have kids with us, so the wait was not an issue for us.
The Service was friendly and prompt.

The band we saw on Saturday night was super.
Don't miss Frenchy's Rockaway Grill.
