Chincoteague Island

A July 2007 trip to Chincoteague Island by ted009

My wife and I took a trip to Chincoteague Island, VA on the eastern shore of VA. Our trip had its ups and downs.

Our lodging was one of the downs of the trip to Chincoteague. It was not worth the money that we paid. I feel for the price our cottage should of at least been emmaculate when we walked in. It was not. Even the older furnishings and appliances would not have bothered us that much if a place is clean. That is what really got us. We had friends staying at a budget motel at the same time we were there and their room was older looking but it was CLEAN and they paid less money then we did. I would not recommend this hotel to friends nor would we stay here again.

Bill's was packed when we went and from other people we found out that it is like that alot in the summertime. There are limited restaurants in Chincoteague so that is a problem. Bill's was a nice family restaurant with a nice atmosphere. The seafood was average and I was surprised because I thought Chincoteague would have good seafood but that wasn't the case. Bill
s has a great breakfast though. We ate there twice and out of all the restaurants in Chincoteague I would say Bills would be the best choice.

Attraction

We met some friends who have a boat and went fishing for the day! It was so enjoyable. It was one of the hilights of our trip. Being on the water with friends and catching some fish was icing on the cake. Chincoteague is a great place to fish and be out on the water, it has great views and good fishing.
