Primark

Attraction

The new Primark store on Oxford Street (near the Mable Arch Tube Station) is massive. For a kiwi coming from a place where Glassons is about as good as it gets, Primark was amazing. I happened to go there during the first couple of weeks after it opened...and wow...I had to cue around the block - and the block around Primark is BIG. Inside the store it was a crush - it was mad, words can't describe it and I loved it; it was exciting, I wanted to buy everything! They sell women's, men's, and kid's clothing, homewares, and accessories at very low prices. I got great dresses for 8 pounds, swim wear for 3, singlets for 1.50, etc. The store is really nice and modern (much nicer than the older s...Read More

The Science Museum was really quite old! I didn't find it very interesting as an adult, but the kids there seemed to be enjoying it. The section on planes was really interesting, especially the cross section of a 747 - the walls are surprisingly thin.

The Natural History Museum was really special. It's in a beautiful old building with fantastic gargoyles hanging off it. Each section is really extensive and there are lots of stuffed animals. The dinosaur section was by far the most popular and I'd have to agree. I read all about the evolution of dinosaurs and possible theories about their extinction. The number of fossils were really impressive. A great morning or afternoon out!

Garrick

The Garrick Theater is in a great location on Charing Cross Road. It's just up from the National Gallery and an easy stroll from Leicester Square and Chinatown. Inside it is compact and intimate. It is also quite pretty inside and as the theater isn't too big, you can feel close to the action on stage. I saw Treats there in March and was in row E which was very close to the stage. The stage door is just outside where you can easily get a glimpse of the actors/actresses leaving afterwards.

Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew

Attraction | "Kew Gardens"

Quote:
I went to Kew Gardens in April on Good Friday. The gardens were spectacular, all the bulbs were in full flower. I loved walking under the oak trees because there were beautiful daffodils everywhere. For Easter they had a farm animals show for kids. I got to stroke a Giant Flemish Rabbit and touch a goat. It was great fun. The weather was perfect so I had a picnic on the lawn. A lot of people were eating in the cafes.
