Le Mont, my family and me!
Le Mont Saint Michel is located at the border between Normandy and Brittany. The mouth of the river marks the variegated trail that takes to one of the most fascinating places, inscribed as World Heritage three years after I set foot on it for the first time, in 1979.

Le Mont is a Benedictine Abbey, one kilometer into firm land. At night it simply floats, magically, 80 meters high. A mix of human architecture, energetic pilgrimage, and natural wonder, this is a place you simply cannot die before touching, at least once. And while you are at it, remember to walk all the way up to the peak, where the Archangel Michael appeared to Bishop Aubert of Avranges. Is St. Augustine's Faith to believe what you do not see? This Mont, a Gothic style rocky islet, will finally reward you. There, you will see to undoubtedly believe!

Last time I visited the Mont St. Michel, as I ran desperately to make it to and from before the tide went up its course, I had the privilege to purchase the galettes de la Mère Poullard, delicious butter biscuits. Do not buy them if you are either allergic to butter or a health freak. All others, please indulge!
