An August 2007 trip
to Lexington by Jennifer Dalton
Quote: This is a private park. We went for "free" weekend. It has got two huge pools, one for adults only! This one is next to the adults clubhouse. They have a pool table, games, etc. On Labor Day weekend they had three bands and fireworks. We rode our golf cart around it. It's a big park.
We enjoyed a "free" weekend at this private park. We received a pamphlet in the mail offering three days and two nights free to come and tour it. It's located off 64 West towards Mocksville, NC. The county the park is in is a dry county. You don't have to travel very far to get something to drink though, approximately 10-15 minutes.
The first day we rode around and did some sightseeing. They have a big kids pool, we talked to other campers, saw some horses, rode our golf cart down to the Yadkin River and and then came back up to the adult pool and ordered a pizza from the snack bar. We went for a tour of the park on the second day. They were pushing the park too hard. We felt it was too expensive for our use. It would be nice if we could use it more. For now we'll just stick with coast to coast. We did enjoy it. Real nice set-up.
There are separate pools for adults only! Extremely nice. No wining or screaming kids. Two of the bands that played did so at the adults lounge. The other one played at the community center. Fireworks were displayed after dark. Really good ones! We had a wonderful time especially with it being free. You could probably go to www.thousandtrails.com and search for forest lake if your interested.
